I found the source of the problem!
I unchecked “WP eStore Settings” > “Addon Settings” > “Link Affiliate ID with Coupons Table”:
when you uncheck the checkbox, it accepts the AffId.
This solved the problem.

Of course I don’t try that!
I enter the affiliate ID in the Affiliate ID field, and I get that message.
Try it yourself.
Here is a valid affiliate ID: GR75262
Try entering it in the affiliate ID field and see for yourself.
Moreover, try any random string in that field and see you get the same message (i.e. regarding a coupon, not an affiliate!)
I just tested every step + taken screen shots, but I cant post pics here. sorry.
