RESOLUTION:
It seems the data center had no problem activating the plugin. Even so, my main workstation still showed it INACTIVE and was giving me the same 504 error.
It occurred to me that perhaps the network issue was internal to our office network. The reason being is that all machines on it were doing full backups because of a recently replaced Backup Repository hard drive on the backup server. So, I logged into WordPress from a machine that had completed its back up and sure enough, the plugin was active in the Dashboard, and was running fine on the site.
So, I completely cleared all browser caches on my workstation, and Presto!, everything came back to life. I saw the plugin as active and it was working fine at the site.
dreidMemberThanks wzp!!
dreidMemberI also get a 504 Gateway Timeout Error.
That implies the webserver is unable to properly communicate with the MySQL database server. Your original problem may still exist.
Are you using a commercial hosting provider, or are you using your own server?
I use Hostcentric as my hosting provider. I just put a ticket in to them.
I might add that, as along shot, I deactivated all my other plugins, and I still can not activate WP eStore…
Should I completely remove WP eStore, and do a fresh installation? If so, should I remove all the files as well? Will that delete any of the work I did in building the store?
