Hello Keymaster and forum members,
I added the shortcode plugin and then I used the shortcode that you supplied (with the requisite modifications)and I’ve gotten things to work again.
Thank you for your help.
November 8, 2013 at 12:44 am in reply to: eStore: Clicking on MAKE PAYMENT button redirects visitor back to same page #58705DinActionMemberHello Keymaster,
Will using the method you suggest, will it – Make it so that when SUBSCRIBE/MAKE PAYMENT button was clicked, the payment was immediately processed and the site visitor was taken to the Paypal processing page (as show in the video tutorials such as the one I included in my previous post)?
The issue is not only one of having an aesthetically pleasing MAKE PAYMENT/SUBSCRIBE button, but also for the site visitor to click on the PAYMENT button and then have the payment immediately processed so that the visitor is then transported to the Paypal processing page.
Lastly, can the Gatekeeper be found in these forums as well?
Thanks for your help.
November 7, 2013 at 1:06 pm in reply to: eStore: Clicking on MAKE PAYMENT button redirects visitor back to same page #58703DinActionMemberThank you for this information.
However, what I am not understanding is the reason why when I use shortcodes such as [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=18] that the payment isn’t processed immediately when a visitor clicks on the MAKE PAYMENT button. Could you pleas tell me why is it that that when a person clicks on the MAKE PAYMENT button, they are not immediately able to have that payment processed?
Could you please look at the link: [http://www.rebelsinaction.com/advice-surgery/] ?
Then you see how the page is arranged.
Based on the videos I watched and the previous guidance I’d seen in the forum since purchasing this plugins, I implemented the shortcodes such as [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=18] so that:
A) It would be aesthetically pleasing and I wouldn’t have to go to the additional trouble to create a “make payment” button to replace the hideous Paypal buy button
A price in both British Pounds and American Dollars could easily be displayed AND the appropriate conversions would be make via the payment gateway
In the video “1. How to Create a PayPal Subscription Button with WP eStore” (the URL is: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/wp-estore-additional-video-tutorials) between segment 9mins 10secs and 9mins 12secs, it is clearly shown in the video that:
A) when the SUBSCRIBE/MAKE PAYMENT button was clicked, the payment was immediately processed and the site visitor was taken to the Paypal processing page
Furthermore, at no point in this video did the instructor add the shortcode [wp_eStore_cart] at all. As a matter of fact, he simply created the product, noted the product ID, created a new page, clicked the eStore icon on the WP editor toolbar and then inserted the appropriate shortcode and added the appropriate product ID. When I first set-up this plug-in, this is EXACTLY what I did, how it worked. Now, it does not.
Basically, my page is configured virtually in the same manner as the “How to Create a Paypal Subscription Button with WP eStore” video tutorial, yet you’ve insisted that I need to include the [wp_eStore_cart] short code (which the video demonstrates is not needed).
Now that I’ve gotten confirmation again, that, as far as I can ascertain I set up my products and page that should have the same outcomes as the “How to Create a Paypal Subscription Button with WP eStore” (outcomes in terms no need to added [WP_eStore cart], clicking on payment button and payment being processed immediately etc.), I’m still left scratching my head and a payment mechanism that is not working as seen in the video.
I’d really like some help resolving this and resolving this in such a way that replicates what was seen in the video I’ve mentioned above and given as evidence that what I desire IS, in fact, possible (especially as it worked for me previously when I first got this plugin almost a year ago).
Thanks for your help.
November 6, 2013 at 2:54 pm in reply to: eStore: Clicking on MAKE PAYMENT button redirects visitor back to same page #58701DinActionMemberHello,
I added [wp_eStore_cart] to the bottom of the page.
There are TWO things that are happening that did not occur when I initially did this set-up and checked to see that it was working a year ago. They are:
1) A basket appears at the bottom of the page (where the [wp_eStore_cart] was placed)
2) When one makes a payment, instead of being taken to another, seperate page to process the payment, at the bottom of the page the visitor is shown the product that is in their shopping cart, enter coupon code and check out with Paypal.
On the one hand I can again resume taking payments but on the other hand, I recall that when I initially set this plugin up the sequence of events was: 1) MAKE PAYMENT is clicked by site visitor 2) The visitor is taken from my WordPress page and it taken to the Paypal payment page that gives an overview of what they are purchasing
This is what I would like to do and I am pretty sure that this was the set-up before.
I particularly want the aforementioned set-up reinstated because it is not at all helpful for a site vistor to click MAKE PAYMENT and then be re-directed to the same page that they have made a payment on… If the site visitor doesn’t scroll to the bottom of the page, then they will not see the overview of their purchase and that they can now pay.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I misunderstood you. When you asked, “The shortcode looks like this [wp_eStore_cart]”, I took that to you were inquiring as to whether I was using eStore short code in general… Not the [wp_eStore_cart] specifically.
To answer your question, No, I don’t this specific [wp_eStore_cart] code on this page. Just to confirm, your saying that this code is needed in addition to the three eStore fancy codes (e.g. [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=18])?
If so, is there a specific place where this [wp_eStore_cart] shortcode needs to appear?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, I am using the shortcodes which you can see in action here: [http://www.rebelsinaction.com/advice-surgery/]
On the page that I gave as an example (“Advice Surgery”) these are the 3 shortcodes that I was used:
– [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=18]
– [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=17]
– [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=19]
On the WordPress Editor Toolbar, there is the WP eStore Shortcodes basket icon which I clicked in order to create and insert the appropriate short code (three of which you see above).
The “Basic eStore Video Tutorials” link that you included are what I followed in the first place when I started using this plug-in when I purchased it about a year ago. I tested it with Paypal sandbox and it worked fine. In the past, after I had affixed my correct details to have Paypal be the payment gateway, I did some testing and it worked fine. Now… as I said in my original post clicking on “MAKE PAYMENT” simply directs one back to the page- it doesn’t process one’s payment.
Have you seen another issue express itself the way that I’ve described this issue?
Kind regards,
D
