Ok

I have tried with 2015 theme and all plugins deactivited and still the same issue.

I can only think there must be some other settings with regards to the php_session. I am using a self installed server on Linode. So Im not going to get any help from them.

Is there any other way of testing this to know if I am setting up php session correct ?

OK tried with default theme still not working.

sorry password: neuaddfawr

ok sorted my php.ini file had a syntax error so wasnt reading. so now my session.save_path = /tmp

But the cart is still playing funny buggers

Some more info.

When I run phpinfo it tells me this:

session.save_path /var/lib/php5

But that is not what it is set to in my php.ini file.

It seems whatever I change has no effect

I had found that article you liked to and I tried updating the session.save_path as instructed but I was still having no joy
