    I have a similar situation.

I want to rename ‘ADS’ to ‘ADVERTS’ in the standalone affiliate page. I tried editing affiliatesheader.php but it adds ‘AFF_NAV_’ to the menu item. I changed it back because I didn’t want to break the plugin.

    So..

Where should I go to rename this menu item?

    iamgi,

My problems with these plugins was related to a permissions problem as opposed to a plugin problem. When I reinstalled the plugins, I did so by uploading the unzipped copy via ftp. This caused them to upload with different permissions from those applied via the ‘Add New’ plugin tool when it uploaded and extracted the .zip file.

I have found that with many plugins this odd behaviour occurs and I don’t install plugins via the ‘add new’ tool any more. This may be a local settings problem but could be a clue to the cause of your problems.

The fact that your plugins are failing to store your changes also suggests a permissions problem. Have you checked permissions on the appropriate folders and their files?

    Headscratching over!

Thank you so much for your time and patience Peter..

Yes… I was trying to use a Paypal button with the little piece of code. Mainly because using the eStore subscription buttons method didn’t work either and I was going to have to (try to) incorporate some affiliate code once eMember was working properly, and wasn’t sure how to modify eStore shortcodes.

I firmly believe my problem was rooted in the ‘plugin install feature’.. I realised that the paypal_ipn page was returning a ‘page not found’.

I deleted the eMember plugin and uploaded the unzipped folder via ftp and… wow! Everything started behaving differently!

I put together the subscription button in eStore and ran some tests.. complete success.

So successful that I went ahead and purchased the WP-Affiliate plugin rather than try to get Affiliate Royale working.. 2 minutes later I was seeing the affiliate commissions calculating properly and even better; When I reversed the Paypal transaction.. The commission had also been deducted from the Affiliates account!!!

    Thank you again….. Case closed.

My Hosting provider, Hostgator tell me they are not blocking IPN and that there is nothing wrong there.

Paypal tell me it is sending the necessary response and that there is something wrong with the plugin, I’m sure thats not the case. But the IPN log appears to tell me it was successful.. It took the customers money ok, just won’t give them access!

I have very carefully followed every step in trhe video, tried all sorts of things yet, eStore/eMember just doesn’t seem to be listening.

I have double checked the email address in the eStore is the same as that in the Paypal account.

All set up steps for the Paypal account match the videos.

When I take a look at the IPN Details in Paypal, I see:

    Notification URL: http://www.igrowcontacts.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-eMember/ipn/eMember_handle_paypal_ipn.php custom=subsc_ref=4

    IPN Message:

    txn_type=subscr_signup&subscr_id=I-KFM8PHFW65P9&last_name=Spary&residence_country=GB&mc_currency=GBP&item_name=BRAND NEW TEST BUTTON&business=info@goshopuk.com&recurring=1&verify_sign=A9IFSArZi-fJVunCyxU5gm-KldyIAW7PzsVt0JPhwbpFTCmFbpLuPtw6&payer_status=unverified&payer_email=paypaltest@mlm4sale.com&first_name=andrew&receiver_email=info@goshopuk.com&payer_id=95EM2W5J2JFR8&reattempt=1&subscr_date=01:32:59 Jan 05, 2012 PST&btn_id=40243622&charset=windows-1252&notify_version=3.4&period1=1 M&mc_amount1=0.00&period3=1 M&mc_amount3=10.00&ipn_track_id=3ipfbmIL7aaUe-TS1UbhUQ

Nothing seems amiss. At this point two days have passed with teardown after tear down and still no success. All that is missing from completion is the creation of the eMember account and the completion email.

I cannot go with a manual account creation as it doesn’t notify admin that the product subscription has been created. I don’t really want to have to purchase and set up a different plugin, but if it comes to it, can anyone recommend a plugin that will let me set up a paid subscription type account allowing access to restricted content?

Another day passes without success. :(

I uninstalled both eStore and eMember, then FTP uploaded the files. This got the plugins up with the correct permissions.

I have now removed the estore short codes and gone with Button Factory buttons for Subscriptions in the hope that would work.

Still takes the customers money but wont tell them how to get to their purchase and doesn’t create an eMember account.

In desperation, I have created a paypal sandbox account.

Which to my unmitigated joy actually wrote something the the ipn_handle_debug.log file for the first time!!

I don’t understand what it says… can you help please:

It strikes me as odd that if I enter the URL:

    http://www.igrowcontacts.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/license.txt

I get to see the text file

    But, when I enter:

    http://www.igrowcontacts.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/paypal.php

I get a page not found (and no log file written)

After completing the transaction, setting up the subscription, checking the paypal emails, and arriving at the ‘thank you page’:

All log files are empty (apart form the reset advisory)

Step 1: First, check to make sure that you have turned debug : CHECK

Step 2: Check that the “Use Automatic Post Payment Processing” checkbox : CHECK

Step 3: Make sure you don’t have any “Maintenance Mode : CHECK (none)

Step 4: Now lets check to make sure that the plugin is not facing any permission issue: Navigating to the page generates a ‘oops page connot be found’.

Changed permissions of paypal.php and ipn_handle_debug.log to 666 via FTP

    Step5: no sandbox

Step6: Paypal IPN turned on Paypal IPN history has plenty of these messages:

    (04/01/2012 10:22 GMT 1WC34097RF095663S Retrying)

Your profile settings topic does say that it doesn’t matter what the URL is as eStore will over write it but, I changed it to the “Thank you” page URL..

    Tried again.. empty log file.

Ok, fixed the email address… the Paypal button and the eStore short codes now both successfully set up the subscription and retur the buyer to the thank you page..

Still no eMember creation and no emails sent by eMember/eStore with either method.

I am still concerned that I am not being asked to set up an emember account at any point in the process.

Tell me more about your paid setup service… How quickly could you get this set up for me and how much would it cost?

Thanks for the quick reply Peter!

I have now tried a subscription button with:

    Product ID: 2

    Product Price: 13.50

Reference Text: 4 (The eMember level for this is 4)

    Inventory Control, Available copies: 5

Inventory Control, Limit per customer: 1

Under the Subscription/Recurring Payment Specific Settings (Click to Expand):

    Trial Billing amount: 0.00

    Trial Billing Period: 30 days

    recurring Billing: 13.50

    Recurring Cycle: 30 days

    Recurring Billing Count: 0 (Continuous)

    Reattempt on failure: not checked.

But I am getting an error back from Paypal when I click ‘Pay with my credit card’ on the paypal page:

The link you have used to enter the PayPal system is invalid. Please review the link and try again.

Also, I need to add a little additional code to the paypal button:

    “notify_url=[wafp_ipn]custom=[wafp_custom_args]”

Will this be possible? Can you show me where in the code I would add it?

Yes. The membership level ID is 4. (“No expiry or until cancelled” is set),

I was hoping you were going to say that there was a problem with the Paypal button code.

I would prefer to use the product approach with eStore but there doesn’t appear to be a way to implement a subscription button… Is it possible?

Is my problem related to using a subscription button with a $0.00 for 1st 30 days, model?
