Hello,
I have 2 urgent questions:
Note: I DO NOT use estore or any store programs, I ONLY use paypal buttons.
1. I have several service products on my website, so I want to award commission on some products and NO commission on certain products. How do I do this? I think the wp affiliate program is designed to award commission on all products on the site.
2. Is it possible to setup a recurring commission on a subscription product? Meaning the affiliate earns an initial commission when product is bought and then receives a smaller percentage for every month the customer stays with our product? How do I do this?
Please reply soon!
March 23, 2013 at 10:19 pm #54614wpCommerceModeratorHi, What is your affiliate plugin version? Which PayPal button integration option are you using? Refer to our documentation here:
If you are using option 2 you can choose to ignore the steps and the button will work just like a normal PayPal payment button (no sale commission will be given for those buttons).
If you would like to award recurring commission please set up a subscription type button in your PayPal account and follow the steps outlined in option 2 and it will give recurring commission every time a subscription amount is charged.
March 24, 2013 at 1:59 am #54615socialgurusMemberI am using wp affiliate version 5.5.6. I used option 1. I have several service products on my site, some with subscription buttons and some with regular buy now buttons. I am paying affiliates a ONE TIME commission for sales made using the subscription buttons ONLY. I do not want to pay commission on the items that have the paypal buy now buttons, I ONLY want to pay on the subscription buttons. How do I stop your plugin from calculating and displaying commission from products with the BUY NOW button? I hope you understand what I am saying

If you would like to award recurring commission please set up a subscription type button in your PayPal account and follow the steps outlined in option 2 and it will give recurring commission every time a subscription amount is charged.
When you use integration option 2, you can pick which buttons will generated commission. Don’t do the integration for your buy now buttons and it won’t generate commission.
March 24, 2013 at 10:58 pm #54617adminKeymasterHi John, yeah I understand what you are saying. Do the following:
1) Undo what you did for the current method of integration. The PayPal button integration option 1 is easier but it has no way to control/limit which buttons will give commission. It works like a normal store/shop where all PayPal payments generate commission
2) Load a new copy of the affiliate plugin (we have recently changed a few things in the 2nd PayPal button integration method to make it a little easier than before):
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
3) Do the 2nd PayPal integration option with your PayPal subscription buttons
This 2nd integration method allows you to chose which PayPal button will generate commission so you can only do this integration wit your subscription buttons.
