Tagged: how to issue a customer refund, refund
Hello, we had an order that was successful in Paypal and sent the customer a receipt but took an hour for the order to show up in WP Photo Seller and send the customer the download link. Do you know why this would happen and how we can avoid it in the future?
Hi AMGill,
There should be no big delay between the time the customer completes their payment on the paypal site and is redirected back to your site. As soon as the person lands back on your site’s thank you page the order will be saved in the photo seller DB table.
Please check that you have the following setup correctly:
Log into your paypal account and check the following settings:
1) “Auto Return” (this should be enabled)
2) “Payment Data Transfer” (this should be enabled)
3) “Instant Payment Notification (IPN)” (this should be enabled).
4) UTF-8 formatting enabled as per https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/some-characters-and-text-not-recognizable-in-the-notification-email
Photo seller side:
1) In Payment Gateway Settings make sure you have entered your paypal email and also the correct PDT identity token.
Our plugin never delays an order. PayPal can sometimes delay the sending of the payment notification message (IPN) if their server is going through heavy volume. It is a good practice to to have a message on your thank you page that says something like the following:
Normally the delivery is instant however in some rare cases it can take a little time. So please wait an hour before contacting us.
OK thanks. I will check all those settings.
If a customer sends me an email saying they are not satisfied with a download image by what process do I issue a
refund? Is there a PhotoSeller feature to do this or a PayPal process to do this?
