I just purchased the Photo Seller plugin. Installing on newest current stable version of WP. If I upload the zip, install results in error 500. If I manually upload directory/files, I don’t see the plugin appearing in list of inactive plugins.

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to server error logs at this moment.

    Please advise.

If I upload the zip, install results in error 500.

    1. Was this through the WP Dashboard?

    2. An “Error 500” is an “Internal Server Error.” It has nothing to do with the what you were installing; it has to do with the very act of trying to install the ZIP file. Only your hosting provider can help with an “Error 500.”

If I manually upload directory/files, I don’t see the plugin appearing in list of inactive plugins.

    1. How did you upload the files?

    2. Did you unzip the ZIP file into the wp-content/plugins directory?

Strange, had no such problem with any of the other plugins I installed (500)…

I uploaded files through the ftp program I use every day to upload/download files (CuteFTP), into the correct directory. I’ve installed plugins manually before.

    Thanks

Did you use the binary transfer mode? It is very important to use binary transfer mode (otherwise the files can get corrupted during the transfer)
