    Hi there,

I want clarification on how the trial billing amount works. Currently I’m trying to set up a special product that charges $20/mo. EACH MONTH for 6 months. After the 6 months, $35/mo. will be the recurring payment amount until they cancel.

For the Trial Period section of the Product Settings, if I put:

    Trial Billing Amount : $20

Trial Billing Period : 6 mo.

Will this charge them $20 EACH MONTH or will it only charge them $20 ONE TIME that will last the duration of 6 months, at which time they get rebilled for the full $35/mo. amount?

Alternatively, should I set it up so that they pay $120 (trial billing amount) for 6 mo?

Basically I want to receive $120 total within 6 months – in $20 increments over 6 months.

Can you please clarify how this will work?

    Thank you!

    Jamie

Hi, unlike the recurring amount you can’t specify the number of payments for trial amount. It can only be charged once before the regular subscription (recurring amount) starts. So I think you can set up like the following:

    Trial Billing Amount : $120

Trial Billing Period : 6 months

    Recurring Billing Amount: $35

    Recurring Billing Cycle: 1 month

Leave the “Recurring Billing Count” field empty so the recurring subscription continues until cancelled.

I am trying to set up three different subscriptions, monthly, every 6 months and yearly. I see how to do the monthly and yearly, but how do I configure subscription billing every 6 months?

Recurring Billing I see the following:

    Recurring Billing Amount:

Recurring Billing Cycle: (choice of day/month/year)

    Recurring Billing Count:

I think if I chose “6” for “Recurring Billing Cycle” and “month” it would charge 6 times per month? I only want to bill once every 6 months.

    • “Recurring Billing Cycle” would be set to “6 Months.” That means the billing cycle is “once every 6 months.”
    • “Recurring Billing Count” would be the number of cycles (length) of the subscription. If left blank, it will go on forever; unless canceled by the buyer or otherwise overridden.
