While I’m very excited to use the Affiliate software, I was very concerned to discover the application form is not secure and requests the person’s SSN. This is a big security risk, and there’s no way I expect anyone to fill it out that like that.
My question is, how do I edit the application form? I want to remove the SSN line — I can simply contact them later to get that information once they’ve been approved.
Thanks for your help!

November 20, 2012 at 5:21 am #51596adminKeymasterIt totally depends on you to make the application form secure if you want to. All you have to do is add SSL to your site (remember, SSL is something you get from your host… a plugin can’t give you SSL for your site). All of our plugins are designed to work with SSL on your site (means it will work fine if you have HTTPS url).
The TAX ID or SSN info is optional on the registration form anyway. So if your users don’t want to they don’t have to enter it.
Anyway, you can also remove that field totally from the registration form too with a little tweak. Please let me know which affiliate area option you are using (refer to the following documentation):
December 31, 2012 at 8:47 am #51597jackieboyMemberhello i would like to know how i can remove the bank account field completely from the form. my affiliate view uses the short code in my page. also, both the drop down boxes … one for the country list and the other for the salutation list… are misaligned slightly. these field boxes shifted to the left by about three spaces. need to know where i can go to fix this. finally, in the country drop down box i would like to show the word “select” or default to United States versus Afghanistan. thank you.
January 1, 2013 at 12:35 am #51598adminKeymasterHi, The following shouldn’t be an issue:
– Drop down boxes misaligned a little
– “United States” selected as the default country when someone goes to the signup form
Please load a fresh copy of the affiliate plugin just to be sure:

If you still don’t see those two issues fixed, please post a link to your affiliate signup page so I can check it out.
After these two issues are sorted I will tell you where you can go and tweak the code to hide the bank account details field.
January 1, 2013 at 3:49 am #51599jackieboyMemberthank you for your quick reply. i bought the plugin yesterday and downloaded it from your site. i made some very minor css changes (color only) and i am concerned that i will loose that work if i delete it and reload. is this the case? also, i am wondering where the link code is within css for the “login here” hyperlink on the registration form as well as the “affiliate sign up” link on the affiliate login page. these two links are the only two links that remain red all other links were successfully changed
January 1, 2013 at 4:13 am #51600jackieboyMemberin addition to the changes noted above that i likely can make myself, i would also like to know what customization might cost to get the plugin to do what i need it to do. for example, i would like to use my own form instead of contact form 7 to track referral leads. i give away a two week free trial with no credit card and will need to track the leads sent to my form.
i use the following fields on the form:
Company Name:
Website:
First Name:
Last Name:
E-mail:
Phone:
Password:
Confirm Password:
Time Zone:
I would like to capture the first name, last name, and company name out of this list and record it in the admin affiliate mgmt area as well in the affiliate admin area. i would also like to add the affiliate name in the admin affiliate mgmt area so i can track which affiliates are referring leads in addition to their affiliate id.
i am working on a budget but would be curious to know what these customizations might cost.
January 1, 2013 at 2:00 pm #51601jackieboyMemberhi again, when someone fills out the contact form in the affiliate area, the autoresponder addresses the person “Dear WordPress:

Which autoresponder are you using?
January 2, 2013 at 4:19 am #51603jackieboyMemberthank you for the video info and yes i will submit a request for custom pricing. regarding the autoresponder, all my webforms go to a suppport desk. the autoresponder from the support desk go to the person otping into the form but in my case it addresses the person as Dear WordPress versus Deal First Name. Not sure how to remedy this with the built in affiliate plugin form.
January 2, 2013 at 10:45 pm #51604adminKeymasterOkay that means you are not directly integrating a autoresponder with the affiliate plugin. So the issue you have may be related to an email issue. Go to the email settings of the affiliate plugin and make sure you have the email address entered like the following in the “From Email Address” field:
Your Name <support@your-domain.com>
January 21, 2013 at 1:31 am #51605goldstriknParticipantI use option 2 [wp_affiliate_view] to show the affiliate forms. I need to modify and take out the field Tax ID/SSN and Bank Account details. Please let me know what file to edit.
January 21, 2013 at 11:11 pm #51606adminKeymasterYou can edit the following file to modify the signup form and remove any field you don’t want:
