I recently switched a client from Digital Access Pass to eMember. I used the bulk upload method to import the users to a paid membership level. I noticed it created WordPress Users for all those I imported (not needed). I left this unchecked in the settings as well. But if users change their passwords they can’t log in. I am thinking it has to do with the WordPress users.
Suggestions?

April 18, 2013 at 12:08 am #55179wpCommerceModeratorHi, Are you changing the password from the “Users” menu of your WP Dashboard or eMember’s “Members” menu? Or the user is changing the password using eMember’s edit profile option?
Ideally you should edit the user information in the “Members” menu of eMember plugin (after all the users have been imported to eMember). That way eMember can keep the user data synchronized with their WordPress account (if you need it).
April 18, 2013 at 8:49 pm #55180jonahgirlMemberthe user is changing it via their profile and/or forgot password. Either way they can’t log in.
April 18, 2013 at 10:01 pm #55181Portland CulinaryMemberI’m having exactly the same problem with my installation of WP eMember. Users who have forgotten their password go through the Reset procedure. The dialog box says that a new password was sent…but it was NOT sent.
They never receive a new password.
The old password does not work.
When I attempt to change the password from the admin panel, the program returns an error and tells me that “This email is already in use” or “This username is already in use”.
Help!

May 3, 2013 at 3:16 am #55183jonahgirlMemberSorry I have been out of town. This is a fresh install of the plugin and it seems that the users can change their emember password but the change doesn’t go over to the wordpress password and prevents them from logging in. If I delete the unneeded wordpress password then they can change it and log in. Do I just need to delete all the user accounts in the wordpress admin. I didn’t want them created and since I don’t have emember set to add users I think that is the issue. The buttons are not ticked to add users.
May 3, 2013 at 4:37 am #55184adminKeymasterIt seems like you have a little mis-configuration in the following settings of emember:
If you don’t need the WP Users for anything else then make sure all those settings are turned off (they are off by default but you may have enabled some of them).
