Hi, I store my digital products on Amazon servers
Usually everything works fine but the other weekend everyone trying to download my files through the WP eStore encrypted link kept getting an error message (saying “file corrupted”). The problem lasted several days but it now all seems ok again…
But when I put a support ticket in during the problem period, I was told that my Amazon URL wasn’t configured properly (when I set it up originally I followed the instructions but the instructions now look different? has there been a change?). The problem is that my downloads are Zip files so I can’t use the current suggested format(?). Am I okay to leave things as they are? i.e. https://s3.amazonaws.com/BucketName/FileName.zip or should I change to the alternative format for any reason? i.e. as3tp://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/folder/object (leaving the ‘/object’ off)?

Have you followed these instructions to integrate eStore with S3?
Also, some possible reasons for what you are seeing are explained in these posts:February 16, 2012 at 12:56 am #41995wzpModerator
You were using the “old” method for dealing with Amazon S3 hosted files. The “AS3TP” method integrates S3 handoff into eStore, therefore relieving the processing burden from your server. Under the old method, you were doubling your server’s bandwidth.February 17, 2012 at 1:20 pm #41996
Ho do I find my secret access key? I have the 20 character access key but not the 40 character secret one. Clicked on the “know what your AWS Access Identifiers are.” link in eStore but it just took me to my (non-secret) access key.February 17, 2012 at 1:26 pm #41997
Ok found the secret access key, updated the Add On Settings and put the new URL in the product details….. but when I click on the encrypted link I get a page saying…
“Please tell us the AS3TP URI for the product was either malformed or that the AS3TP configuration is incorrect. Thank you!”
Is it anything to do with the fact that the download is a Zip?
Would appreciate a quick response as I have customers waiting
Many thanksFebruary 18, 2012 at 12:41 am #41998adminKeymaster
It basically means you missed a step or two from this documentation:
