I am trying to have a 25% discount applied to the TOTAL cost of items in the cart. I set up a coupon BBFCYBER25 and told the cart to automatically apply this coupon. For some reason, it applies it to the first item int he cart fine, but to no other items. Can someone help me? I need this fixed int he next 3 hours…please help!
You can message me on Yahoo! Messenger too martinfamily2005
November 29, 2010 at 1:20 am #26877wzpModeratorHave you tried setting the “Apply Coupon Automatically for Sub-total Over…” field to 1 cent?
November 29, 2010 at 1:23 am #26878billboardfamilyMemberYes, I have it like that already with Coupon Code to Apply: BBFCYBER25
How can I add a screenshot on here?
Also, I just noticed that clicking on the “Remove Item” button actually completely empties the cart. Any thoughts on that?
November 29, 2010 at 1:57 am #26879amin007ParticipantIf you have applied a coupon then removing an item will completely empty the cart to prevent people from scamming you (sometimes people add items to the cart to get a special discount then remove it before checking out).
You can’t upload screenshot here but you can upload it to your site and post the link here.
What details are you using for this “BBFCYBER25” coupon?
November 29, 2010 at 2:01 am #26880amin007ParticipantI have edited the post tile from “Urgent” to a more meaningful title “Issue with automatically apply a coupon”
Why? It is explained here (the 2nd point):

November 29, 2010 at 2:09 am #26881billboardfamilyMemberThanks. Sorry for the title, I will remember that next time. I understand the “Remove Item” issue now, thanks.
The screenshot is here (it shows the coupon settings, etc):
November 29, 2010 at 2:16 am #26882amin007ParticipantThank you for the screenshot.. it makes sense now. You are telling eStore to apply the coupon automatically as if the subtotal is over “0.01”. As soon as the customer adds an item to the cart the subtotal value is going over “0.01” which means the coupon condition has met so it is applying the coupon right that moment (the automatic coupon gets applied as soon as the condition meets). Now that one coupon is already applied to the cart it is not allowed to apply anymore coupons (this is to prevent the other type of coupon scams).
In your case I would recommend telling your customers to apply the “BBFCYBER25” coupon normally before checkout rather than using automatic coupon.
November 29, 2010 at 2:19 am #26883billboardfamilyMemberIt may be a bit late to tell everyone that. Is there a way to tell eStore to automatically take 25% off of the total in the cart automatically? Does not have to use a coupon, just needs to take the 25% off of the total of all items.
November 29, 2010 at 3:01 am #26884amin007ParticipantAll you have to do is put a message like the following just above where you are displaying the shopping cart:
“Please use coupon code BBFCYBER25 to receive a 25% discount”
If you make it big, bold and colorful your customers will be more than happy to read it and use it.
November 29, 2010 at 3:17 am #26885billboardfamilyMemberI guess I can just do that! LOL. Just curious, is there a way to have the shopping cart just automatically take 25% (or any other amount) off of the total in the cart?
November 29, 2010 at 3:30 am #26886amin007ParticipantYeah there is a way to make the cart take an amount off the total but it requires manual code modification and I try not to advise that to the customers as it makes the upgrade process hard.
November 29, 2010 at 4:03 am #26887billboardfamilyMemberI see. Maybe a feature for the next version?
Where can I suggest features for future versions? I have some ideas. Thanks!
