We’ve been using this plugin for over a year, but all of a sudden we are having this problem. When someone signs up and pays for a product (regardless of whether they use a coupon or not) they are taken to the payment page and then after hitting submit they get this page:
An error occurred while trying to report this transaction to the merchant. An e-mail has been sent to the merchant informing them of the error. The following is the result of the attempt to charge your credit card.
This transaction has been approved.
It is advisable for you to contact the merchant to verify that you will receive the product or service.
The payment is in fact going through, but this page error is scary to our clients and they end up not getting the email with the downloadable link.
When I look in the log file there is a success message and in the payment log file it seems fine:

The download link listed in the log file works fine, but for some reason the email isn’t being sent (even though it says it is).
I have installed a new installation of this plugin and the error still occurs. Can someone help me figure this out? All seems to be fine on the Authorize.net side as transaction are actually going through.

January 16, 2013 at 3:04 am #53081adminKeymasterThe plugin is definitely sending the email. If the email is not arriving in the inbox then is is getting blocked by something else. This checklist will help you find out what it is:
Regarding the authorize.net error, please check the following posts that should help:
