Hi all,
I know this was discussed years ago, but my client is having this problem now. I cannot replicate it, as it works fine for me.
To be specific, we are using this shortcode
[wp_eMember_edit_profile]
I can’t post the url, since its only available to members, but if necessary, I could make the staging site copy public.
I was thinking it is a caching problem, but she’s cleared all her caches, I’ve cleared the Sucuri cache, and the website cache. Since I can’t duplicate it, I’m kind of stuck. Any suggestions from the brain trust out there?
Running WP 5.9.3
wp Emember 10.3.6 (But on staging site 10.4.6)

I know this was discussed years ago, but my client is having this problem now.
The problem was 2 users trying to use the same email address.
The user in question has a unique email address, so is using only one email address. And that email is in the database correctly.
No one else has tried to use her email address, esp. since we’re on a staging site with no other users.

Is there a REGULAR WordPress user account; that uses this same email address?
Go to the “Users” menu of your WP dashboard and do a search using that email. Check to see if there is a WP user profile that is using that email address.
If it is then don’t try to create a new member account with that same email. Import that existing wp user account:

And that would have affected my clients.
Funny though, my email was duped similar to theirs and I had no problem changing my password.
That’s OK. If it fixes their problem, thats what counts.
