I have always the same message when I click on the link to acces the Pay Per View Content
The wp_eStore download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request.
The problem was due to the following reason:
The download link (see browser address bar) has been used too many times. If you think this reason is in error, please contact the site administrator.
The URL is http://pignonsurleweb.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php
November 24, 2011 at 10:04 pm #38851wzpModeratorIt means that particular link was sed more than the configured number of times (default 5) permitted. Also, the link you posted is missing the query string; the part that says “?file=random-hash-value”
November 25, 2011 at 3:54 pm #38852alchymedMemberHi
the number of time set is 2. It s not a download, but a pay per view content. What can I do to ?
November 25, 2011 at 6:09 pm #38853wzpModeratorThe limits apply to ALL encrypted links, so it is “doing its job” correctly. Increase the limit to something higher.
December 21, 2011 at 12:24 am #38854billbenbodhiMemberI’m having the same problem on downloadable files…
everything works up until they click the encrypted link then this error:
“The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The download link (see browser address bar) couldn’t be found in the wp_eStore database.”
i used admin funtion to create a download link to test and i got the same error.
i checked the debug log files and all seemed perfect and successful.
It has only just started since the upgrade due to wp3.3 issues.
please help.
December 21, 2011 at 1:19 am #38855PeterMemberHi,
If you upgraded your WordPress version to 3.3 then firstly you should update your plugin version too if you haven’t done so already. Then try again and see if you still have an issue:

December 21, 2011 at 1:26 am #38856billbenbodhiMemberyep, it has only been happening since the upgrade of the plugins.
i updated wp, then the plugins didnt work so i updated them, and now this is happening…
December 21, 2011 at 1:47 am #38857PeterMemberHi,
Ok. Let’s wait till Admin looks at this post so he can offer his advice on how best to proceed.
December 21, 2011 at 1:56 am #38858billbenbodhiMemberhey, thanks for trying anyways…
come on admin, i’m being flooded with emails from customers that are having the same problem.
December 21, 2011 at 2:30 am #38859PeterMemberIn the meantime could you please enable debug and share the output?

December 21, 2011 at 2:43 am #38860billbenbodhiMemberthe download manager output is as it always has been while it was working (this is the last 2):
[12/16/2011 2:17 PM] – Status : AS3TP URI request = as3tps://mrbillstunes.s3.amazonaws.com/hardcore/rest_of_the_link_name_and_file_name.file

when i paste this, i realised that there hasn’t been any since the 16th december…
so there lies a problem of some kind…
here is the whole post payment debug log:
[admin deleted debug]
hopefully this helps.
its weird that the download manager debug log doesn’t show the recent transactions that havn’t been working…
December 21, 2011 at 6:14 am #38861adminKeymasterHaving no fresh debug indicates a server file permission related problem. Please share an encrypted link here so I can test something. Hit the “Reset Debug Log” file to reset all debug data so we can only focus on new debug info.
Did you apply any customization to the download manager in the previous version of the plugin that got wiped out during the upgrade?
December 21, 2011 at 10:42 am #38862briandavidphillipsSpectatorI am getting the same error with download links:
“The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The download link (see browser address bar) couldn’t be found in the wp_eStore database.”
The amazon direct links to my files work fine so it’s the encryption thingie that is off.
One URL is showing http://briandavidphillips.net/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php?file=3VzX%2FikBVvCWh6nvgg%3D%3D and the other shows http://briandavidphillips.net/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php?file=3V7X%2FikBVvCWh6rshA%3D%3D which I assume are supposed to be the encrypted links but they are not working (although the original unencrypted links within the store are fine).
I updated to wordpress 3.3 and then upgraded my plugins yesterday to newest versions (according to the upgrade system here):
WP eStore v6.2.7
WP eMember v7.4.7
WP Affiliate Platform v4.9.9.1
I had been getting a login error after WP 3.3 upgrade but that disappeared after upgrading plugins but now I have the download error which is much much worse as with the login thing my clients could simply hit back then reload and they were logged in. But with no downloads working I can’t sell product and we just added holiday coupons we really needed to send out today! Otherwise everything loses timeliness and can’t afford to lose the seasonal sales.

December 21, 2011 at 10:56 am #38863briandavidphillipsSpectatorWhen I try creating a link through the admin functions for the products in question, I get the same error:
“The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The download link (see browser address bar) couldn’t be found in the wp_eStore database.”
So, it seems to be the plugin and how it’s assigning and processing the encrypted links.
Help please.
Sorry, I have no clue how to debug or inspect code or anything like that (I’m doing really well just to upgrade the plugins, more beginner than intermediate or advanced user).

December 21, 2011 at 12:57 pm #38864wzpModerator“The download link (see browser address bar) couldn’t be found in the wp_eStore database.”
Means that the download script couldn’t locate an entry in the database, that matches the URL query part of the download link. This could mean several things…
1. The link entries never make it into the database.
2. Something is preventing the download script from properly accessing the database.
Because the download script operates outside the WP environment, if it gets “locked out,” it would explain the error as reason 2. The first reason would only apply if something were preventing the database entries from being written.
The reasons for why it can’t access the database could be…
1. A fundamental design change to the WP database structures occurred.
2. During the WP upgrade process, some system configuration option changes eStore’s ability to access the database.
Because (at this time) the number of people having upgrade problems is limited; I am leaning towards the second reason.
Since @Admin is already involved, it would be prudent to let him coordinate any “hands on” examination of the systems for @billbenbodhi and @briandavidphillips.
In the meantime, I shall do some investigations and theory testing of my own.
