up until 2 weeks ago, the products were working correctly (Of course, we only had 2 sales/) However, now the download links are often incorrect, giving the message “
The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The download script couldn’t locate the file associated with the digital product. If the administrator thinks this reason is in error, maybe a different URL conversion option might fix the problem.
“
Sometimes the files to be downloaded aren’t even generated, much less the links.I was getting memory errors, so I increase the size of the PHP area and that helped a little. Now back to the same thing.
I hate intermittent errors!!!! They are a complete PITA. But I have to get this fixed as we are losing sales. I think it may be a timing error … that when the server is under stress there isn’t enough time to complete the job before the results are displayed in the “download” page. During the shopping day (PST 11:00 – maybe 6 or 7), I always get an error. One book and link may be correct, but never both. And occasionally NEITHER book is even generated.
Late at night I often get both books and links.
So is there any way to put in a loop (like the “downloaded” or buffering loops you see on videos that checks to see if the Stamping and link generation is finished before showing the “Download” page?
Or do you have any ideas about other causes? This is getting very serious. Already 4 paying customers have had issues.
Thx, Mary
PS: I have not upgraded to v3 of WordPress until this is resolved.
Also, I want to integrate eMember … but am holding off
January 18, 2012 at 7:09 am #40907adminKeymaster1. Are you on a shared hosting?
2. How much RAM memory is available to your PHP applications? Your hosting provider will be able to answer this for you.
3. How big are the PDF files in question?
January 20, 2012 at 7:31 am #40908icomputeMemberyes, we are on a shared server. 110M is available (it was 90, but I increased it) one book is 2.32 M. the other is either 2.5 or 2.1M
Yesterday I got a strange result. the first book stamped correctly; the second book was stamped but not encrypted. there was a copy of the second book showing 718.51KB and with a -e at the end of the name. However, this could not be opened by Acrobat.
January 20, 2012 at 1:22 pm #40909adminKeymasterYou should not have any issue then. If you have 110MB RAM and your files are under 5MB (as long as some other application running on the server is not taking up the space.. WordPress itself takes about 30MB of RAM). What version of PDF stamper and the eStore plugin are you using?
January 20, 2012 at 6:14 pm #40910icomputeMemberI don’t think we should have a problem either.
PDF Stamper – Version 4.0.7
eStore – Version 6.2.3
I want to also install eMember … but I want to make sure that these 2 work correctly before adding another element

January 21, 2012 at 6:09 am #40911adminKeymasterLets load a fresh build of the plugins and then do a few test runs. Please do this:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Then report back after you test it.

PDF Stamper v4.0.9
Well … that version made it worse. Now I NEVER get two books. Only the first one. And it doesn’t make any difference which book is first.
I have a couple of logs from various tests. They are long … so I emailed them as an attachment to you.
Now I have some other problems that are really eStore problems. The eStore settings are also included in the email.
1. I am not getting a response email of the sale although the parameters are set in eStore. The emails were arriving before I installed this set of plugins.
2. The customers are not being updated. The Manage Customers screen says “No Customers Found” (and was the same before I updated the plugin).
3. The sales table is not being updated. There are only 5 records – all are tests and all are from 01/01/2012
That’s it for now.
Please … how can we resolve the Stamper issue? It is really hurting our sales.
Mary
February 2, 2012 at 6:16 am #40913adminKeymasterI will check your email and reply there.
February 3, 2012 at 5:55 am #40914adminKeymasterTurned out to be an issue with the server not being able to handle PDF file encryption as it is a CPU intensive operation (commonly seen on shared hosting with low CPU usage limit).
