Hi Admin!
First off, very elegant plugin. Great work!
Hey, BTW – how do you handle multi-site licensing? I’d like to use on a couple of WP instances on the same server. Happy to purchase additional licenses, or a ‘multi-site’ license if needed. Purchase was related to kvk[at]technomad.com email.
So, question:
We’re testing a simple squeeze box here:
http://www.toolateforroses.com/blog/test-squeeze-page/
It works fine – email payload of a MP3 is delivered. Emails ARE added correctly to the eStore customer list. BUT – they are not added to MailChimp.
My MailChimp list is called “Too Late for Roses List”. I’ve entered this exactly on the MC Autoresponder section, along with my username and MC password. BOTH checkboxes are checked on the MC Autoresponder section.
Suggestion: a ‘check login’ or ‘test connection’ button might be handy – to ensure that the MC connection is really working.
I’ve turned on Debug, but nothing has been added to the log after several test ‘signups’. Also, I checked permissions on the ipn_handle_debug file, and all is correct (_www is the owner, with full rights).
So, I would really appreciate your help on this. I can email you mailchimp or WP login info, if that would help.
Best Regards,
Karl

If you do a normal purchase then the MailChimp integration will work.
I didn’t add MailChimp integration option for the squeeze page yet (Only AWeber works for squeeze page at the moment). I am going to add the mailchimp option here too.. I just haven’t decided if I should go down the path of adding all these 3rd party integration in the base plugin or handle it through another free addon. There are quite a few large autoresponder and email marketing service providers out there and if I add all of them the plugin gets unnecessarily heavy for everyone else as nobody will use all the autoresponders together.
Anyway, I think I will add mailchimp to the base plugin as it’s already implemented for the normal transaction path. I should have something ready in two days.
May 1, 2010 at 9:36 pm #20315karlvonkriesMemberMany thanks – that would be super helpful. Another question regarding Squeeze Page –
Can you tell me where I can modify the php so that the two fields are ‘side by side’ vs one above the other? For my page layout ( http://www.toolateforroses.com/ ) the ‘stacked’ alignment of name and email consumes much vertical space.
Side by side would be better for me. So, I assume there is a </br> tag somewhere I can remove to put the fields next to each other?
Best,
Karl

eStore_free_download_form_ajax
You will see the form there.

May 2, 2010 at 8:42 pm #20318karlvonkriesMemberOne more related question – is it possible for me to insert google analytics ‘goal tracking’ code in the php that displays “Email sent! Please check your inbox for the download link.” ?
It would be awesome to measure how people found our site and which ‘sources’ of visitors led to the most completed Squeeze Page info. I can accomplish this if I know where to insert the appropriate google ‘goal”code.
Just a thought…

Email sent!
It’s all JQuery code there so you should be able to insert your JavaScript in the “success” function.
May 20, 2010 at 6:41 am #20320amin007ParticipantJust added the MailChimp Integration for Ajax based Squeeze Page form!
May 21, 2010 at 12:19 am #20321karlvonkriesMemberOutstanding!
Thank you very much!

PS – one small idea – re ‘manage customers’ page – because those of us that use squeeze pages can get a lot of ‘fake’ email addresses, deleting the bad ones can be a bit of a pain. Suggestion – add a ‘delete’ clickable text next to the ‘edit’ button on the list of customers on the manage customer page i.e.
Customer info delete | edit
May 21, 2010 at 12:47 am #20322karlvonkriesMemberWhoops, follow up question – do I need to reinstall the plugin to make this work?
I just ‘test-added’ a non-working email, and I see the email added to the plugin’s list of customers. But – it was not added to the Mailchimp list. The list name is correct, as is my username and login.
(I think a ‘test Autoresponder connection’ button would be super useful!)
May 21, 2010 at 9:03 am #20323amin007ParticipantYes, you need the updated version of the plugin to get the MailChimp integration. This link will help:
This link will help you with that:
“those of us that use squeeze pages can get a lot of ‘fake’ email addresses” – Remember, if an email address already exists for a product then it won’t add it to the customers database. So even if you fill in the squeeze page 100 times you will only be added to the list once.
November 19, 2010 at 5:12 pm #20324David KakonMemberHey, i dont get the mailchimp signup request when i signup using the squeeze box. I get it when I purchase a product
heres the squeeze box:
November 20, 2010 at 12:39 am #20325amin007ParticipantWhat version of the plugin are you using? Did you try the ajax version of the squeeze form explained here:
November 21, 2010 at 11:07 pm #20326David KakonMemberyes pretty recent, you did lots of trouble shooting for me recently (thanks for that!)
I did use the ajax method. can you try to download the file and see if you get the mailchimp request?
November 22, 2010 at 1:27 am #20327amin007ParticipantNope the email do not come through for me either. Please send me the site access details again and I will take a look.
Update: The API key was turned off in David’s MailChimp account so the plugin’s API calls were failing
