Looking to list an item that is neither a product or service (Yet)
for example
We need to list items amongst downloadable purchases and service purchases that cannot be purchased yet…..
A ‘select now’ offering / item that leads into a squeeze page perhaps, captures details (name, address, telephone number, email address etc) prior to the user being able to submit the form.
The submission then sends an emails to a particular email (similar to contact us page).
Additionally we are also seeking to hook this up to the affiliate program, so any leads sent to us are rewarded if their is an outcome.
Make sense?
Thought? Ideas? welcome.
January 5, 2016 at 5:05 pm #72212NicolaMemberPS After receipt of the email form the user we then get in touch with the user….
Appreciate this can be done via a contact us page….
so if simpler…how can I add a link called (For example) ‘Send enquiry’ with a link button that matches the standard fancy download / buy now buttons.
January 6, 2016 at 12:37 am #72213adminKeymasterUse the “Button Redirect Target URL” field of the product to specify the contact page. That will make that buy button of that product go to the link you specify in the “Button Redirect Target URL” field.
Then you can list this product on a page using a fancy display (just like you do for a normal product). However, when someone clicks on the buy button, it will take them to the page you specified.
You can also use a custom button image (for the products in qeustion) that says something like “Send Enquiry”. The following post explains how you can use your custom button image with eStore products:
January 7, 2016 at 2:14 pm #72214NicolaMemberHi Thanks for coming back to me.
Unfortunately the advice will not work.
I either need to do one of the following!
Take an existing buy now button (As used across the store) and modify it to state ‘Send Enquiry’ instead of buy now.
OR
Have [wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=9] become effectively [wp_eStore_send_enquiry_fancy id=9]
I have other product listed on a page plus products listed on the main index page, all use the same default blue style button which is great…..the simplest idea…….change the text in a button to read ‘Send Enquiry’ seems to be impossible….
There are no instructions for taking an ‘existing button’ and changing the wording….I’ve searched….
Agree, adding a redirect target URL is perfect….getting a button that is in keeping with all others used appears to be the challenge.
January 7, 2016 at 6:27 pm #72215NicolaMemberMore info
I’ve just used the following shortcode – [wp_eStore_fancy11 id=9] – Which does not make sense according to page https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/stylish-product-display-options-for-wp-estore-829 as it looks more like Fancy 15
Having done some research Stylish Product Display 15 (Fancy 15) would be a good option, it is would stretch across the page to show all the text required……also great as there is no price or buy now or add to basket….
I’ve not yet managed to get Fancy 15 to work using 15 in the shortcode….
Nearest I’ve got to work is Fancy 11 i.e. [wp_eStore_fancy11 id=9]
Which produces a reasonable result except the box is very short compared to [wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=6] for example….
(It would be great is different shortcodes aligned on the same page so they looked tidy….)
So back to the drawing board unless we can get Fancy 15 working aligned with [wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=6] and able to accept more characters in the description like [wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=6] does……..
This is quite frustrating when different shortcode items respond by default differently in terms of max number of characters for the description, width on page etc …..
I do hope someone can shed some light, this is the last thing to sort and has to date taken the most time…..
January 8, 2016 at 2:53 am #72216adminKeymasterYou can specify a custom button image for EACH product. So you will only use this button image that says “Send Enquiry” for the products that you need to use it for. Your other existing products won’t be affected by this at all.
So why would there be a problem in doing what I explained before?
You are having this issue because you have some custom requirement. Read the following post which will explain this more:
January 9, 2016 at 5:22 pm #72217NicolaMemberSo why would there be a problem in doing what I explained before?
I’d like to use exactly the same size and colour button used for “download” and “Buy Now” on the item listed last…..except the words on the button state “Send Enquiry”……then link through to another contact form (As now).
I have searched everywhere on this site for information about taking a button ‘currently in use’ and changing the words on the button….
But I must be missing something…the answer is eluding me.

January 10, 2016 at 1:51 am #72219adminKeymasterThe only way is to use your custom button image. What you are doing is very custom (not very many users do that and hence the plugin doesn’t have any built in option for it).
The ONLY way you can get a button to say “Send Enquiry” is to create an image with those words then use that image as your button for this new product.
The following post explains how you can use an image as your button image:
