Video Tutorial
Option 1: Changing the Button Image Per Product
You can use this method to use a custom button image for each of your products. This option works for all types of buttons that you can create for this product in eStore (example: Add to Cart, Buy Now, Subscribe, Download Now, Donate).
Step 1: Find the URL of the image you want to use as your button. Easiest way to do this is to upload it to the WordPress Media Library.
Example Image File URL:
Step 2: Go to the “Additional Details Section” of the product in question.
Step 3: Paste the image URL in the “Button Image URL” field.
Step 4: Save/update the product. This will make it to wherever you create a button for this product it will use this image.
Note: There is a check in the eStore plugin that makes sure the URL is valid, some servers have issues with this check. If you get this error and you know for sure (you tested the URL by pasting it in the browser’s address bar and it goes to the image and not a 404 error) then you can ignore this error.
Option 2: Globally Change the Add to Cart Button Images
You can use this option to globally set an image to be used as all of your “Add to Cart” buttons (you can still override the button image of individual products using the above mentioned option).
Step 1: Find the URL of the image you want to use as your button. Easiest way to do this is to upload it to the WordPress Media Library.
Example Image File URL:
Step 2: Go to the eStore “Settings page” in your WordPress Admin.
Step 3: Find the following options “Add to Cart Button Text or Image” this is located under the “General Image and Page URL Settings” section
Step 4: Paste the image URL in this field.
Step 5: Save the settings. This will make it so all the eStore buy buttons on your site uses this image.
Pre-Made Button Images for You to Use
This page has a collection of button images that you can use (save the image you like to your computer then upload it to your site and use it):
April 24, 2014 at 10:20 pm #38373PosturallyMemberI followed the instructions in this tutorial as well as those in the basic adding products tutorial. My goal is to but a buy now button (I uploaded an image.) in just one product – this would be the product that redirects to my book page on Amazon.com. (The button redirect url function is working.)
So I put the url to the buy now button in the button image field for the product that is being redirected. Problem is, Estore also put that same image as my add to cart button.
So then I tried to upload an add to cart image and I put that in (according to the tutorial) the general settings where the “Add to Cart” text was by default located. But what that did was to add that add to cart button to the other (test) product on my page that is supposed to be an actual store product.
April 25, 2014 at 3:27 am #38374adminKeymasterYou can specify ONE custom button image graphic with each product. If you specify a button image graphic for a product then that image will be used for any button created for that product.
You can create another duplicate product then change the button image on the other product. Now, you have two eStore entry for the same product and can use one for buy now button and one for add to cart button.
You can also use a generic button image graphic that works for both buy now and add to cart button. For example: if you have a button image that says “buy” then it works for both.
There is another alternative… use the following feature of eStore and then you can use your own image with the button link (buy now or add to cart) that you crate:
April 25, 2014 at 4:02 am #38375PosturallyMemberI figured it out. I had used a short code for a buy now button which put a 2nd one on the bottom of the page. (I thought I had a cart short code but went back to check and sure enough, the short code was for a buy now button. Problem solved.)
June 5, 2014 at 2:33 pm #38376Troy MediaSpectatorCan you use a different button depending on the Membership level?
For example, we have two levels of membership:
Pay as you go: I would like the button to read Download (as it currently does) so that a link is sent when payment made.
Unlimited Access: These people have paid a monthly membership fee so I would like to have the button read Open when they sign in.
Currently I am creating two products, one for each membership level but would like to know if it is possible to only create one product with the button changing depending on the membership criteria.
June 5, 2014 at 4:54 pm #38377missmarceMemberWhy the shortcode the buy now button does not move from the left? I’m trying to center it but is always on the left.
June 5, 2014 at 11:32 pm #38378adminKeymasterDo the following to center a button:
