Loading single images seems to be taking a very long time – the site is constantly ‘waiting’ though I’m not sure what it is waiting for, surely there can’t be much demand on resources? I am just showing the image, not using a watermark. The image should load within a second but it is taking 6-8 seconds often regardless of my connection (150mb).
Please advise,
Kindest regards,
Pete
September 19, 2014 at 12:17 am #65540PeterMemberCan you provide a link to that gallery you say is slow so I can take a look?
December 2, 2014 at 10:11 am #65541spotlightstudiosMemberHi – Appologies for the delay.
Here is a link to one of the galleries: [http://rickdellphotography.co.uk/secure/] with password jen17

Pete
December 2, 2014 at 11:05 pm #65542PeterMemberYour version of photo seller is quite old.
Grab the current release and this should address the slow loading issue you are having:

December 3, 2014 at 12:59 am #65543spotlightstudiosMemberI just updated and tested on a duplicate server (Version 1.6.5 – server ip is 212.48.71.222 if you want to force it and see for yourself) and it’s still the same – any idea what is causing the delay?
Regards,
Pete
December 3, 2014 at 1:29 am #65544PeterMemberVersion 1.6.5
That is not the latest. The latest version is at least 1.8.x.
Are you sure you downloaded the latest?
December 3, 2014 at 9:51 am #65545spotlightstudiosMemberSorry – re-enabled the previous one.
I’ve updated to 1.8.2 but now it won’t load a photo at all. It’ll show the grid view but nothing further.
Regards,
Pete
December 3, 2014 at 11:23 am #65546PeterMemberPlease provide a link to the gallery which has the problem you describe above.
December 3, 2014 at 1:41 pm #65547spotlightstudiosMemberThe link is the same as before, but it is running on a different server (so that the live website does not go down) you can force the ip in your hosts or otherwise, see previous tickets.
possibly it is conflicting with the theme somehow
December 4, 2014 at 5:10 am #65548PeterMemberI can’t seem to access the photo seller gallery page on the other server. You will need to provide a direct link to the gallery to save us from wasting time trying to figure out where it is.
December 4, 2014 at 12:55 pm #65549spotlightstudiosMemberassuming your are running windows, if you add the following line:
212.48.71.222 rickdellphotography.co.uk
to the bottom of your hosts file (c:WindowsSystem32Driversetchosts) and refresh your webpage it will tell the computer to access the site using the alternative server.
The link is still:
with password jen17
or
[http://rickdellphotography.co.uk/secure/photogallery/gallery102/]
with the problem on photos such as:
Obviously I cannot switch the A records because then the website will go down.
Regards,
Pete
August 27, 2015 at 1:30 am #65550alan goughMemberAlso experiencing really slow load times for images in galleries. Is there a way to upload 400 to 600 pixel low res files so that the plugin does not have to read the high res files, which I think must be part of the slow slow issue? Looking forward to a viable solution. Here is a link to one of the galleries where speed is an issue and crashing at the 6th

I have read in the forum that some templates load a little faster, which template loads fastest, and why??
August 27, 2015 at 3:14 am #65551adminKeymasterThe templates that uses a small thumbnail will load faster (because the images it is loading are small).
The load times really depend on how large your images are and how many of them you have on the page, how powerful your server is to process the image watermarking and so on.
For example, template 1, 2, 3 uses smaller thumbnail images for the gallery page. So naturally those images download quicker and hence the page loads quicker. Template 9 and 10 uses the full size images (for a nice lightbox preview). If are going to have 100 of those 2MB images in that gallery, it will take a few seconds to download and it will load slow. We have got all kinds of different templates. So try the different ones and see what works for you.
