1. I currently have only manual checkout activated and it has been working fine but today when I was testing it, but now when I press confirm after completing the manual checkout form it all the required fields are not populated then everything gets blanked out rather than just giving a warning message.
2. When visiting my site using the Chrome browser – when I add something to the shopping cart, as soon as I go to another page the cart gets emptied.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Jen.

August 3, 2015 at 8:08 pm #70995jenncronjeMemberThank you. I followed the steps – emptied cache and deactivated W3 Total Cache and everything appears to be working find now. W3 Total Cache is listed as a plugin that does not usually conflict with plugins, any ideas why it would be causing issues for me?
August 3, 2015 at 9:57 pm #70996wzpModeratorDid you configure W3 Total Cache, according to these instructions?

August 4, 2015 at 12:17 am #70997jenncronjeMemberI was missing these two tips:
Tip 1: If you are using the “Browser Cache” settings then keep the “Enable HTTP (gzip) compression” field unchecked for the HTML section in the “Browser Cache” page of W3 Total Cache Plugin. On some servers enabling the HTTP (gzip) compression in the HTML section can cause corrupted encrypted download files.
Tip 2: Try not to use the “Object Caching” as it can sometimes have a negative effect on your site in general if you use it with the standard “Disk” method. Remember, Object Caching is not enabled by default when you activate the total cache plugin.
I’ve reactivated it made these changes and it appears to be working…I’ll keep an eye on it.
Thanks for your help.
August 4, 2015 at 12:20 am #70998jenncronjeMemberI do still have the issue where when using the manual checkout, if any of the required field are not completed it tells you the fields are missing but also clear/blanks out the fields that have been completed. Is there anything I can do to prevent that?
August 7, 2015 at 1:14 am #70999jenncronjeMemberI am having the same issue again with the shopping cart but only with Chrome browser. I’ve deactivated W3 Total Cache and I’m still experiencing the same problem so I’ve asked my host provider to look at the PHP sessions. Do you have any other suggestions?
August 7, 2015 at 4:11 am #71000wzpModeratorWe’ll await your provider’s determination of the PHP sessions issue. We have to have complete faith in your server’s ability to handle PHP sessions properly.
August 7, 2015 at 9:59 am #71001jenncronjeMemberThe response I got back from them was that PHP sessions are enabled but I don’t have php.ini file. They weren’t very clear on whether this was the cause of my problems but told me to create it and put whatever script I want in it then place it in the public_html folder. This does not mean much to me, if I am able to create it do I just add the line:
session.save_path = /tmp
does it need anything else around it?
August 8, 2015 at 12:58 am #71002adminKeymasterIt is your hosting providers responsibility to give you a server where PHP session is working correctly. If they don’t then you should consider switching your host.
Please share a link to your product page where I can go and add item to the cart to check the behavior.
Have you already done the plugin conflict test to make sure another plugin is not destroying your PHP session?

August 8, 2015 at 2:37 am #71003jenncronjeMemberVery strange, it appears to be working now… I think my problem is the host as you suggested. Do you have any recommendations to switch to? I’m currently with GoDaddy. Sorry for taking up your time with this.
August 8, 2015 at 11:38 pm #71004adminKeymasterI am not a big fan of Godaddy’s hosting. The following should help:
