Search products in particular category

Hi there

Is there a way I can create a search that only searches in a particular category that is chosen before. So I can have one search that searches “MP3s” and another that searches “Tickets for an Event”

WP eStore doesn’t have this option. The search option searches the entire products base.

I would love that option as well. I would like to drop in the search shortcodes in each of my category main pages and have the search ONLY look in the specific category. Maybe in an upcoming update perhaps? I would be willing to pay for such and optional add-on.

Anymore thoughts on this guys? I’m getting closer to launching my webstore and since I will end up having about 15 categories and a few hundred products I would love to have a search option that is category specific. If I could just specify the category # in the search shortcode that would work great for me. I would use it by placing a search option on each of my category main pages or on a page-specific widget. That way if my customer is browsing category “a” and searches for an item they won’t get results from the whole store.

I put in some on the extra shortcodes plugin today and added this option. You can use the category_id parameter in the search shortcode to restrict the search within a particular category. Here is an example:

[wp_eStore_product_search category_id=1]

Here, 1 is the particular category to search.
