Registration vs Joining

Hi Amin /Ivy,

Whilst making a video about joining my site, I discovered that the ‘Join Us ‘ link skips straight to my join-us page and non members don’t get taken to the ‘register page’. This means I can charge non-members money, but free membership is not available and nor can I get subscribing members into the system properly.

I would like to set it up so that non-members get taken to the register page and then the join-us page, while registered free members get taken to the join us page directly. Is this possible ? It would seem that potential members are getting confused and just moving on !

When a visitor lands on your site you do not know if the visitor wants to be a free member or a premium member. This is why you send all the visitors to the “Join Us” page where you explain the different member options that you have (eg. free, silver, gold etc) and how to sign up for a particular membership.

I am pretty sure if you followed a registration flow example explained on this page it will become clear as to what you should do:
