Hi, when my customers buy a paid membership they receive an email asking them to complete the registration process. However, the link that is given to them takes them to a page that is not found.
here is an example of the given link:
As you can see I have created a member registration page (free registration is not enabled), so that is not the problem.
Any ideas on why the link is not working??
Thanks very much!
December 17, 2011 at 8:07 am #39759adminKeymasterThere seems to be an extra space or some other hidden character after the end of the registration URL value that you entered in the settings. Please check the registration page URL value in the settings and make sure you don’t have any unwanted characters there.
May 17, 2013 at 5:57 am #39760Diana McGinnessMemberThe link being sent to members to complete the registration is not working. Below is the text that is sent to the user to complete the registration. They are receiving the email, but the link does not work.
Please complete your registration using the following link: {wp_eMember_registration} for access to [http://johncooke.com]
The registration page has the registration link on that page, as noted below:
[wp_eMember_registration] on [http://johncooke.com/registration]
Please tell me what I need to do to resolve this.
May 17, 2013 at 11:01 pm #39761adminKeymasterHi, Looks like you have edited the “Email body” field and the email tag for the link is now wrong. The following email tag that you are using in the email body is wrong:
{wp_eMember_registration}
Please replace that with the following tag which is the correct one to include the unique registration completion link:
{reg_link}
August 25, 2013 at 4:57 pm #39762archenemysMemberHello,
The registration link that our new users are being sent are incorrect. The email message they receive is…
Thank you for joining the ArchEnemys Online Magazine.
Please complete your registration for [www.archenemys.com] by visiting the following link:
…but the registration link they are sent to tells them that free registration is disabled. There is no place for them to fill in their registration info…
Whats wrong?
Also I noticed that the paid member that joined on 8/23 doesn’t even show up as an emember.
August 25, 2013 at 11:09 pm #39763adminKeymasterLooks like the user record is not going to the DB. Have you recently upgraded the membership plugin?
September 12, 2013 at 5:15 pm #39764archenemysMemberNo I haven’t upgraded. Do I need to?
September 13, 2013 at 1:42 am #39765adminKeymasterLets try doing that. It should sort out any sync issue. The following post will help:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
October 14, 2013 at 11:14 pm #39766archenemysMemberOk, reinstalled plugin.
October 23, 2013 at 3:39 pm #39767archenemysMemberPlugin reinstalled. Still getting people saying they are not getting registration emails after they sign up…
October 23, 2013 at 11:25 pm #39768adminKeymasterThis is happening to all users or some users? If this is happening for some users then that indicates that you have some email delivery issue. The following post is a good resource for that:
If it is happening to all users then there is still a setup issue. Are you integrating eMember with eStore for membership payment or you are directly using eMember with a PayPal button?
December 24, 2013 at 4:23 pm #39769archenemysMemberIt looks like it’s happens only on one subscription level, silver. When I click “Generate a Registration Completion Link” or “Generate & Email the Registration Completion Link (bulk model)” they get the link just fine.

September 24, 2014 at 5:54 pm #39770SevMemberHi. I’ve also got registration links not working. Its been working fine up till now.
I’ve manually created the links from Admin Functions page (ie I’ve eliminated the e-mail part of the problem). I’ve also just insltalled fresh copies of latest plugins (I’m using eStore, eMember and Affiliate Platform). The registration links just say ‘page not found’.
Here is the link:
Any clues as to what I should try next.
Many thanks.
September 24, 2014 at 11:33 pm #39771adminKeymasterThe value you entered in the “Registration Page” field settings of the plugin is incorrect. You must have recently removed that registration page or changed it’s URL.
Watch the following video to learn how you can re-create the registration page and specify the correct registration page’s URL in the emember pluign settings:
September 25, 2014 at 6:50 am #39772SevMemberOMG – I’m such an idiot! I deleted the Registration Page by accident. Thanks for spotting it so quickly:)
