Hi,
It turns out that when the Registration complete email gets sent (which I’ve titled Login Information) two aspects of the code don’t appear in the email: the first and last name and the URL. The first and last name code does work for the Complete Registration email and they are written identically in both. Nonetheless, I copied and pasted the code from there into Registration Complete but upon retest it was still not fixed. I can’t identify what could be wrong with the URL code either which is written as {login_link}. Fyi, my login page address is mywebsite.com/login.
The user name and password code is working correctly though.
Thank you.
November 19, 2010 at 11:30 pm #26708wpCommerceModeratorCan you please post a link to the login page?
November 19, 2010 at 11:36 pm #26709amin007ParticipantYou need to make sure you have the following tags in the email body exactly as they appear:
For first name and last name:
{first_name} {last_name}
For the link to the login page
{login_link}
Have you made any modification to the plugin code?
November 20, 2010 at 12:32 am #26710jadder48MemberThe codes currently in place are identical to this. I haven’t made any modification to the code that I know of. Is there a document I should look in to double check?
Here’s the page link with numbers you can remove(to prevent a search result from happening)
smok2ers3qu3it4cla5ss.com/login
Thank you.

June 5, 2011 at 6:48 pm #26712verityMemberWe are testing out site before we launch, and we cannot get the auto emails to work properly.
When someone purchase a membership, we want them to get an email to complete their registration. But they get an emai that says this:
Thank you for your purchase!
12 Month Basic Membership x 1 – $0.45 (USD)
Any items to be shipped will be processed as soon as possible, any items that can be downloaded can be downloaded using the encrypted links below.
12 Month Basic Membership – This product does not have any downloadable content
I need to know how to get the email to contain the link to complete their membership registration. As well as how to edit the text of this email. thank you.
June 6, 2011 at 12:23 am #26713wpCommerceModeratorCan you please do a test purchase with the debug enabled and share the content of the “ipn_handle_debug.log” and “subscription_handle_debug.log” files?
Did you integrate the product with eMember by specifying your Basic membership level ID in the “Reference Text” field (WP eStore->Add/Edit Products->Additional Product Details Section)?
June 6, 2011 at 12:44 am #26714amin007ParticipantThat email gets sent out from eStore whenever a product is purchased. If it happens to be a membership product then there will be an additional email that will get sent out to your customer requesting them to complete the registration. Obviously this 2nd email is not going out in your case.
You most likely haven’t integrated eStore with eMember correctly which is why this 2nd email is not going out. Please check the 3rd video tutorial from this page to integration eStore and eMember properly:
June 6, 2011 at 5:13 am #26715verityMemberI have set up the settings as you describe. Is it because I am using a different type of button?
I had it working a week ago (using a buy now button), but I needed to change the code to show a shopping cart (rather than just go straight to paypal) so I could add coupons. Could that be causing the problem?
‘
[wp_eStore_fancy_display id=4 type=1 style=2]
‘
If that’s not it, would be be willing to take a look at my site and help me figure it out? I have watched the videos and gone through the payment process several times. I do not have Sandbox enabled, so I should be getting the emails, correct?
Thanks
June 6, 2011 at 11:55 pm #26716amin007ParticipantAdd to cart buttons should also work. There is a very easy way to find out the issue. Please do a test transaction with debug enabled and share the debug file data. The post will explain the debug thing:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/how-and-when-to-enable-debug-and-what-does-it-do
Make sure to reset the debug file before you do the test transaction. Share the content of the following two files after the transaction and it will tell us exactly what is going on:
– ipn_handle_debug.log
– subscription_handle_debug.log

June 7, 2011 at 2:42 am #26719amin007ParticipantOkay good.. looks like everything is working fine. You were expecting a new user registration email but the fact is that the user that is paying for the membership already has an account so there is no need to send a new “complete your registration” email. It is simply upgrading the existing account to the reflect the recent payment:
[06/07/2011 12:37 AM] - SUCCESS :Upgrading member account
I have a feeling you are testing things out but you forgot that you already have an account with this same email address. Please make sure you are simulating a real world scenario that your user will face (for example a visitor who does not have an existing member account on your site) if you are testing the new user signup scenario.
Does that make sense?
