Hi,
I haven’t stumbled upon the right info. to help me let registered members be automatically signed in to the simple press forum. Instead a simple press error box comes up saying Error: Invalid user name. Lost your password?
I’ve checked the three boxes in the emember’s general settings tab under WordPress User Integration Settings but all it’s seem to do it cause me to be randomly logged out of my wordpress account when I try to switch pages in the dashboard.
I saw a link to a post about integrating emember and estore, but I don’t think that applies to simple press and emember integration.
What do you think I could be missing to get the integration with Simple Press to work?
Thank you.
November 19, 2010 at 12:49 am #26665amin007ParticipanteMember integrates with WordPress users and roles. So any plugin that uses wordpress roles and users (simplepress does this) can be integrated given the right circumstances.
So this is what eMember will provide…
A member registers for an account -> eMember will create a corresponding wordPress user for this member -> eMember will set the role of this user to whatever you have specified in the membership level -> when this user logs into eMember he/she will also be logged into WordPress.
So now you have a user of WordPress who is logged into the system with a role that you wanted him to have.
In SimplePress you can specify which role can see what forum. So given that this this member’s role meets the requirement he/she will be able to see the protected content of SimplePress forum too.
In essense when creating a premium membership/forum site eMember is going to be the gatekeeper. It is going to handle the login mechanism (everyone should be using the eMember’s login). When someone logs in they will be able to see content based on the role of that user.
Does that make sense?
November 20, 2010 at 12:36 am #26666jadder48MemberThanks for the info. I went onto the emembers manage content protection page and clicked the forum page as well as some other pages that I want members to have access to(these were not checked before).
Fyi, the manage levels page lists the member as a subscriber (this setting was already in place). I also went to Simple Press and gave members ‘full access’ under forum permissions(they had standard access before). In simple press full access is the highest setting possible before moderator access.
However, an error still comes up saying access denied when the member goes to the forum page.
What do you suggest I do from here?
Thank you.
