I set up the eStore plugin for my client and have a page set for redirection in the settings section, but I also set up redirects for particular products as well. However, the redirect isn’t working for the specific products. Right now it goes back to the main page set in the Settings of the plugin. Before I set that though, the redirect for the specific products wasn’t working at all and was never sending the purchaser to any specific page, but rather a 404 error page.
How can I fix this?

The individual product redirect does not work for a shopping cart checkout. Why? Because when you checkout 3 items for example in one go the plugin will not know which page to redirect to (It sure can’t redirect to 3 different pages after you click the “Pay” button on PayPal). So the plugin takes the global value set in the settings menu and redirects to that page for “Add to Cart” type buttons.
February 8, 2011 at 6:10 pm #28666RathiusMemberI am using a “Buy Now” button so that the buyer is taken directly to checkout then to PayPal so they are only purchasing one item at a time. Each button is set up to send the buyer to a specific page after payment but that will not work.
Also, what is the latest version of the eStore plugin and how can I get a copy? I purchased my own copy several months ago but I think there has been an upgrade since then.
February 9, 2011 at 12:24 am #28667IvyMemberHi, The following post will explain how updates work: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
Please update the plugin and run a quick test to see if this is still happening.
Are you using the PDT option here?

February 11, 2011 at 6:24 pm #28668RathiusMemberlet me explain a bit further.
There are no downloads happening here. The redirect is supposed to take the purchaser to a form so they can fill it out and send it to my client. What the people are purchasing is a session with my client and the questionnaire is to collect data for the session they are purchasing.
The redirect to these questionnaire pages are not happening. This is the problem I am experiencing.
February 12, 2011 at 4:03 am #28669amin007ParticipantWhat happens at the moment after the purchase? Does it go back to your site?
You have specified the “Return URL” in the “Buy Now or Subscription Type Button Specific Settings” of this product? Can you please share the link of this URL?
Please post a link to the page where you have the “Buy Now” button.
February 16, 2011 at 6:55 pm #28670RathiusMemberYes, you get taken back to my client’s homepage, which is the global setting. However, we have set up specific pages, different from the global setting for certain products and those links are not working. Instead you are taken to the home page, which as I said, is the global setting
The page in question is:
http://elainelockard.com/services/lightarian™-rays/
The page it is supposed to be redirecting you to is:
February 16, 2011 at 11:24 pm #28671wpCommerceModeratorHi, You are using “Add to Cart” type button but you need to use the “Buy Now” or “Subscription” type button for the product specific “Return URL” to work.
February 17, 2011 at 1:14 am #28672amin007ParticipantIf you can add a product to the cart this checkout will not use the individual product redirect URL, it will use the value specified in the “Return URL” field of the eStore’s settings. Shopping carts CANNOT do individual redirect because there can be multiple items in the cart and after a payment the plugin won’t know which page to redirect to.
For add to cart type buttons the value you specify in the “Return URL” field of eStore’s General settings will be used. In your case you have specified the following value there so its returning to that URL:
Change this value to “http://elainelockard.com/questionnaire/” if you want to send the customer to that URL after the payment!
September 26, 2015 at 2:04 pm #28673AnisAMemberHi there, on estore, redirect url of products are not working. I want to redirect it to a THANK YOU page, but instead it’s redirecting to an old webinar product i was selling, which has expired.
I’ve gone into the settings and inserted the thank you page url and deleted the old redirect page. But still it redirects me to an old redirect page.
Running WP eStore Settings v 7.1.7
September 26, 2015 at 11:34 pm #28674adminKeymasterEdit the product in question and check the “Return URL” field value from the “Buy Now, Subscription or Donation Type Button Specific Settings” section. If you have the old value there then remove it.
