Hello,
In the Manage Products section you have the Recurring payment tab. In there is showed the following message:
Reattempt on failure When checked, the payment will be reattempted two more times if the payment fails. After the third failure, the subscription will be cancelled.
Does this mean the subscription is automaticly cancelled in Paypal? Or in WPeStore?

Subscription will be cancelled both in PayPal and eStore. If the fund is not there meaning the customer doesn’t want to continue the subscription then there is nothing else the plugin can do at this point.

Does Paypal send a message to the buyer if the transaction doesn’t work? If so, they can take action to renew their account/creditcard.
Do they also send a message to the buyer that the transaction failed and their subscription is ended?
Is that programmed into the plugin?

When a subscription payment is processed PayPal will send an email to the buyer informing him/her about the transaction. This email will get sent out in both cases (success or failure)
