hi guys! Sorry to bother you but for the life of me i cannot resolve the issue with the estore.
I am testing my site to see if encrypted download links get to customers. I got to the point on my programing where paypal is set up, the site takes people all the way through the payment process and returns them to my thank you page. Then i get an email with the download link (shortened to make it easier for the people) But when i click the link to download the product…i get this message “The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle and is unable to process your download request. reason = The download link has been used too many times” Etc
This impossible since I am testing the site and no one knows it even up. I been dealing with these issues for 2 days now and its so very frustrating!! Please help! Thank you in advanced

Then, use the Admin Functions to manually generate an encrypted link.
Paste the manually generated link into your browser’s address bar.
If you get an error, please look at the Download_manager_Debug.log file and post the results.
DO NOT EDIT THE LOG FILE RESULTS WHEN POSTING.
November 30, 2014 at 3:45 am #67076quetalMemberok thank you ..will try now
November 30, 2014 at 3:47 am #67077quetalMemberok the manually generated one works!! Now what to do?
November 30, 2014 at 4:02 am #67078wzpModeratorManually generated links use the same code as the automatically generated one. So we know that once a link is generated, it will work.
What are you using to read the email? An email client, such as Outlook or web email, like Yahoo or Gmail?
When you receive a link in the email, did you try copying and then pasting the complete link into your browser’s address bar? Or did you just try to clink whatever the browser highlighted as a link?
Try it both ways (copy/paste & clicking). Does copy/paste work and clicking not work?
November 30, 2014 at 4:11 am #67079quetalMemberok will try pasting it into the browser. IN this case i am using a gmail account. tried clicking directly and it didn’t work so maybe copy and past. Just a moment.
November 30, 2014 at 4:15 am #67080quetalMemberyeah, copy paste doesn’t work either. Now I’m getting a message that says product id is not numeric . Impossible since this is set by the program and of course i checked it again and of course it has the number 2 as its id. Hmmm
Any thoughts?
November 30, 2014 at 4:37 am #67081wzpModeratorReset the debug logs. Run a test. Please post the unedited contents of the Download_Manager_Debug.log file.
November 30, 2014 at 4:41 am #67082quetalMemberufff… now my paypal account won’t let me run the test because it says i made this transaction too many times.
I have to call Paypal i guess?
November 30, 2014 at 4:48 am #67083wzpModeratorWe need to separate the download link issue from the payment issues…
We already know that manually generated links work.
Try creating a test page with a squeeze form on it. That will allow you to generate links and have them emailed to you.
When you get the email and try the link, it will behave as if you received the link from a transaction. When the link fails, proceed with what I asked about the debug log file.
November 30, 2014 at 4:50 am #67084quetalMemberi guess I have to learn how to do that too. No idea. Haha…ok will give it a shot
November 30, 2014 at 4:56 am #67085wzpModeratori guess I have to learn how to do that too.
November 30, 2014 at 5:07 am #67086quetalMemberAHHHH Thank you
November 30, 2014 at 5:19 am #67087quetalMemberok so i made fancy download buttons for test purposes like it said in the video and all the product links get generated fine and download fine. Its just when it goes to pay pal it seems things get all whacky.
November 30, 2014 at 6:02 am #67088quetalMemberSoooo….NOW it seems everything is working…no idea why actually. Its a mystery. I Did everything you said…and it just now took effect maybe? The debugging maybe helped? Who knows. Well I hope this thread can help help someone else.
