It means exactly what it says. By default, download links expire after 5 uses or 48 hours; whichever comes first.

Please reset your debug logs. Then manually generate a link, and send it to him again. If he says there is an error, please post the unedited Download_Manager_Debug.log results for that download attempt, along with the original link you sent him.
December 1, 2014 at 12:05 am #67096quetalMemberi did that already, basically repeating the same procedure as you outlined before. And nothing works.
Could it have t do with the plug in being on 2 of my sites?

I asked you to please post the results from your Download_Manager_Debug.log file here. We need to analyze the results. We can’t help you, unless you share the results from the debug file.
December 1, 2014 at 1:40 am #67098quetalMemberahhh…funny but its working in some places and in some not. Someone in Scotland just downloaded everything no problem.
The log you mention is huge. You want me to copy and paste it and post it here?

I want you to click the “Reset Debug Log Files” button first. Then run your test. If the test fails, you post the log.

The plugin is not at fault then. Perhaps the people using the links are doing “…something strange and wonderful,” that causes the problem.
December 1, 2014 at 1:58 am #67100quetalMemberhahahaha! Could be who knows
Im afraid to touch it now…it seems to be working. If i reset debug log files will it change what is already working?
Maybe i should hold off to see if anyone else has a problem?
BTW…I am very grateful for your help. This means a lot to us and we are happy to finally be selling this cd! You can imagine!
