Please be more specific.
1. What (feature or process) exactly are you trying to test for?
2. What specific message are you receiving?
3. Have you tried using a non-sandbox setup, to see if you get the same results?
PayPal Sandbox accounts require a lot of setup before they can fully work as you expect it. So sometimes it can be easier to do a $1 live transaction to test your system.
December 22, 2012 at 4:29 pm #20497Pitou31MemberHi,
1. I am trying to test the check out payment using the paypal sandbox procedure.
2. The message I receive is the following: “This is a notification email from the eStore plugin letting you know that a payment verification failed.
Please fully read this email as it will explain everything you need to know to address any issue(s) that maybe occuring (if there are any)!
The post payment verification for a payment notification failed. This could happen for one of the following reasons:
1. The fund for the payment have not cleared in PayPal yet (no need to do anything as the digital product will be delivered once the fund clears).
2. Someone maybe trying to scam a purchase! (no worries… WP eStore got your back
3. You have made a mistake somewhere (please see the failure reason section below to find out more details about this).
The following section has more details on why this failure occurred.
===== Exact Reason for This Failure =====
The transaction failed for the following reason…
Funds have not been cleared yet. Product(s) will be delivered when the funds clear!
===== How to solve the ‘Funds have not cleared’ or ‘Pending payment received’ notification =====
If you have received a pending payment meaning the funds have not cleared for this payment and you don’t know the reason then this link should help
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/reasons-for-a-pending-paypal-payment”
Finally all the payments done are in pending payments for verification, probably as you say because of the sandbox parameters. I cannot go to the normal end of the procedure sending the client message including the link for downloading the product.
3. Good idea to go with a 0.01€ payment, but I would like to be able to run with a normal virtual payment.
Some help for parametrize the the Paypal sandbox procedure will be welcome.
December 22, 2012 at 11:36 pm #20498adminKeymasterThis post should help you setup your PayPal sandbox account correctly so you can test:

Remember, your PayPal sandbox account and the live account profile/parameter setup is completely different. So, don’t mix them up.
January 31, 2013 at 2:03 am #20499ValMemberI received an email yesterday that a “payment verification failed” and this reason:
===== Exact Reason for This Failure =====
The transaction failed for the following reason…
Wrong Product Price Detected! Actual Product Price : 890 Amount Paid: 445.00
It’s a subscription item with 2 payments of 445, totally 890.
Paypal shows it went through.
So is it all set or not?
Should I edit the product to prevent future errors?
thank you.
January 31, 2013 at 10:44 pm #20500adminKeymasterAs far as the subscription goes, it is all good but you should edit the product and use 445 as the price. Alternatively you can use a descriptive text in that price field too.
For a subscription product, you can use a description for the price field. See step 2 of the subscription product creation documentation for more details:

February 14, 2013 at 1:17 pm #20501jimmylucasMemberHi
I kept getting emails of failure payment due to the following.
But I also have sales coming through with no problem.
So I really do not understand why some of the sales created with such issue.
Anyone can help?
===== Exact Reason for This Failure =====
The transaction failed for the following reason…
Request received for product ID: . Could not find this Product ID in the product database (please check the manage products menu and verify that you have specified the correct product ID).

February 14, 2013 at 10:55 pm #20502wpCommerceModeratorHi, Basically, you received a payment notification from Paypal that didn’t have any eStore product ID associated in it. This means, it is not an authentic eStore payment. It is likely that a customer is trying to inject payment notification to get your download for free but eStore will catch it and block these.
You can ignore those failures. eStore is simply notifying you of this so you are aware of it.
If you want to investigate it further then enable debug in eStore then check the debug log next time you get one of these notifications. This post will explain how you can enable the eStore debug option on your site:

May 25, 2015 at 6:16 am #20503WriteBonnieRoseMemberI just received an error: Wrong Product Price Detected! Actual Product Price : 2.99 Amount Paid: 1.49. I’ve read through the other replies here, but this isn’t a subscription, so I’m not sure what to do. Why would the amount paid be different than the product price? Several hours ago, I changed the price on this item and several others. I had been running a special where the “old price” showed $2.99 but the product price was $1.49. I ended the special earlier today, deleted the “old price” and updated the product price to $2.99. Could this be responsible? And is there something else I need to fix? Thank you very much.
May 25, 2015 at 11:55 pm #20504wpCommerceModeratorIt means the user paid $1.49 for this item. But when PayPal sent notification to your site the price was set to $2.99 (Probably because you changed the price by then).
You shouldn’t get this error for new purchases. You can do a test purchase to check it.
May 26, 2015 at 1:35 am #20505WriteBonnieRoseMemberThank you. I’ll do a test purchase to be sure. What confused me was that the purchase came through several hours after I had reset the price (and I got a second purchase later than that). One customer said she didn’t receive her product link. Is it possible that their browser had an old version of my product page cached and that was what the purchase was made from (so after a few days, I shouldn’t have this error)?
May 26, 2015 at 11:31 pm #20506adminKeymasterYes, it is possible that their browser had an old cached page with the old values.
May 27, 2015 at 12:58 am #20507WriteBonnieRoseMemberThank you!
September 21, 2015 at 9:06 am #20508Trane FrancksSpectatorI just got bitten by this and spent hours and hours going over it. The issue? A Japanese PayPal account with the currency set in $ CAD. Pending and then failures all popped up because of the multi-currency issue. Really frustrating. A complete time sink.
September 21, 2015 at 11:14 pm #20509adminKeymasterYes, PayPal can do that. If you tell them what currency you will receive your payments in, they will adjust your account so the funds clear automatically.
September 22, 2015 at 1:49 am #20510Trane FrancksSpectatorI wound up converting my CDN $ to JPY ¥ and deleting the alternate currency in PayPal. eStore makes it easy to display a secondary currency (USD $) to give shoppers a baseline understanding of how much they’re /really/ paying when buying in Yen from abroad.
The forums here are proving to be very helpful in resolving issues. Thank you.
