Problem re-installing WP estore

I’m wanting to re-activate the ability to sell right from my blog. I tried activating the plugin and got this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function db_version() on a non-object in …/wp-admin/upgrade.php on line 39

I tried uninstalling it and turning off W3 Cache, but still get the error message.

I’m running Version v2.7.1 is it possible/advisable to upgrade? How could I do that?

Thanks Installed a new version and saw I have a few plugins conflicting. That was the issue.
