December 28, 2010 at 7:03 am #2433HBin123 MemberHi, We installed an update of the eMember Plugin. (using it with eStore and WP Affiliate) We now have a problem getting it activated in WP. The errors are as follows, in admin of WordPress: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /home/homeb/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-eMember/emember_config.php on line 5 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /home/homeb/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-eMember/emember_config.php on line 21 What can be the cause of this? Best Regards Monica December 28, 2010 at 9:59 pm #27663amin007 ParticipantLooks like a PHP version related issue. I have sent you an email to get site access so I can investigate this. THanks, /Ashley February 26, 2011 at 1:37 am #27667amin007 ParticipantYep, this means this site has a very old version of PHP. July 15, 2011 at 1:29 am #27669amin007 ParticipantLet me know if this helps: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/error-at-plugin-installation-time February 21, 2014 at 5:03 pm #27670Richgreene MemberHello. I am having the same problem as described above with WP PDF Stamper. I get the following message: “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.” There is no additional detail. I’m running WP version 3.8.1. I just purchased and installed WP eStore, Member, Affilliate and they all installed fine. The eStore is working like a charm. I deactivated everything else except eStore and reloaded WP Stamper(after deleting) and still get the same message. Would appreciate any assistance you can give. Rich February 21, 2014 at 10:37 pm #27671admin KeymasterHi Rich, The most common cause for PDF stamper activation error is if you don’t have the ioncube decoder on your server. Did you use the minimum requirements checker plugin to check your site for the stamper?
