Photo Seller – Customer doesn't get email with download link

I get the money after they buy pictures through Paypal, but they never get an email with the picture or download link. I set up the PDT Identity Token, and in advanced, I clicked Display Download link on Thank You Page. They just never get get their picture. What did I miss?

Do they even get to the Thank You page? Please enable the debug logging, and check for any messages.

Can you please double-check the following:

Log into your paypal account and check the following settings:

1) “Auto Return” (this should be enabled)

2) “Payment Data Transfer” (this should be enabled)

3) “Instant Payment Notification (IPN)” (this should be enabled).

4) UTF-8 formatting enabled as per https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/some-characters-and-text-not-recognizable-in-the-notification-email

Photo seller side:

1) In Payment Gateway Settings make sure you have entered your paypal email and also the correct PDT identity token.

Also please enable logging for the photo seller:

Go to Settings and scroll to bottom and set “Enable Logging” to yes.

They do get to the thank you page after Paypal redirects to it.

All those settings were turned on except for Instant payment notification, but enabling it didn’t fix it. I just turned on debug logging. Should I test buy another picture with it on now?

Also in the shipping settings, which should I use for digital pictures? It was set to no shipping, should I change it to “Paypal profile based shipping”?

The “Instant payment notification” setting is actually the most important one.

Can you create a dummy gallery with price of $0.01 and provide the link to it and I will make a purchase?

You don’t need shipping for digital products because they are delivered via email/download.

I made a test purchase and saw that the logs show that the plugin sent the email but it looks like your server never sent it.

Ok I used the email funcionality tester and it worked, but it went to my spam. So my friend checked his spam, and found all his purchase links in there. Is there a way to make them not be spam?

I recommend that you google “stop emails being labelled as spam”….

there are a number of checks and things you can do.
