Hello,
Trying to find out if there is a way to create ‘parent’ and ‘child’ albums respectively?
So that they could be set out as follows (example):
Races (Album) > 12th July 2015 (Album) > Race 1 (Gallery)
It wouldn’t really be a feasible thing for us to be able to keep adding the thumbnails for the parent albums ourselves as we will be regularly uploading images to the site and would find it beneficial for us to be able to have a way to choose albums to be the child of another album, as previously explained.
Thanks for your time.
July 17, 2015 at 7:24 am #70794PeterMemberHi,
I think what you are asking for is something which holds a collection of albums. (perhaps one could call it a portfolio)
At the moment it is not possible to do this by default.
As a workaround you can achieve something close to what you are after by manually creating a page which will hold the albums you want by entering the shortcodes of those albums on that page.
July 17, 2015 at 9:49 pm #70795jimkellsMemberThis would be a great addition to the plugin. Can you give an example of the work around for now?
July 18, 2015 at 3:13 am #70796PeterMemberActually I forgot that there is a special album portfolio shortcode.
Example usage:
[WPS_photo_album_portfolio id=12,13]
where 12 and 13 are the ids of the albums you want to display on that page.
There was a small bug in that shrtcode so therefore I have sent you an updated version of the plugin.

I noticed that your mail server has rejected the attached zip file due to file size.
Is there another way I can get the file to you?
July 20, 2015 at 7:52 am #70798bwarMemberHi Peter,
Thank you very much for that updated version of the plugin! Much appreciated.
Unfortunately, when I attempt to use that shortcode, it only displays whichever the first album ID is within the shortcode. For example, when I use [WPS_photo_album_portfolio id=2,3], it will only show the album of ID 2. When I use the shortcode [WPS_photo_album_portfolio id=3,2], it will only show the album of ID 3.
I’m just curious to see if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug that wasn’t present previously?
Could you confirm for me that that shortcode does work? I’ve installed the updated plugin that you supplied me with.
Thank you very much for your time
July 20, 2015 at 12:16 pm #70799PeterMemberSounds like you are still using the old version because that was the bug I fixed in the latest update.
I just tested this again now and it works as expected.
It may be that I accidentally sent you an old zip file.
I’m going to send it to you again just in case I sent you an old version.
July 20, 2015 at 1:01 pm #70800bwarMemberHi Peter, I saw the newest plugin that you sent across and I have deactivated and deleted the one that I was using and replaced it with the one that you sent. I’m 100% sure that I have the newest plugin installed now but unfortunately, the short code still isn’t working.
The following link is a link to an image of the code that I’m using. I’ve double checked that I have albums with the IDs created but only the first album that is called from within the shortcode is displayed on the page.
Here is a link to the webpage I am using it on:
And here is a link to the image of the shortcode that I am pulling:

Thank you very much for all of your help, it is greatly appreciated.
July 21, 2015 at 12:33 am #70801PeterMemberAhh I see. I just realised that when we implemented this shortcode we only had one album template at the time (template 1). Therefore currently this will work only for template 1. Please change your album template to be template 1 for now and in a day or two I will implement this for template 2 also.
October 7, 2015 at 8:18 pm #70802jimkellsMemberSorry for the late reply i had missed your answer Peter, Is this live now in the current release 1.9.9 or can you still send me the verison that contains this.
We have been waiting for this feature since buying the plugin.

July 12, 2017 at 11:21 pm #70805adminKeymasterIf you go to your “Pages” menu, do you see a page called “Photo Album” with the following shortcode in that page?
[WPS_photo_albums_home]
July 14, 2017 at 9:10 am #70806Sirrom56MemberNo there wasn’t one, so I created the page and added the shortcode above, I still don’t see any albums, either on that page or underneath the Creat/Edit Album page! stumped!
A little nore info, when I actually click on Save Album, nothing changes! the name I gave it and the selection are still there just as if I hadn’t clicked on save rather than going blank in that section and the Album showing below!
Thanks for your help..
July 15, 2017 at 1:58 am #70807PeterMemberwhen I actually click on Save Album, nothing changes!
Looks like maybe the DB save operation is failing on your server.
Can you please look at your server PHP error log file and check to see if you have errors related to this? (if you don;t know how to find your server PHP error log file your host support people will be able to help you)
Also can you please enable logging for the photo seller and try saving another album and then let check the following log file and let us know:
/wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-seller/log.txt
Another thing to try is to see if there is a plugin/theme conflict:
