I am using the Emember and eStore plugins on my site. I have done several test payments in real time and I am not getting any emails sent by the system. I have read all documentation on this matter. And it is definitely something is not right with the permissions on the php files. When I log into my account (Cpanel) I can easily see that all of the php files on both plugins have permissions set to 644. I need to figure out which files to change permissions on and what value they need to be set to.
Thanks for your time,
Chris

November 7, 2011 at 11:02 am #38215PeterMemberI’m not entirely convinced that file permissions are your problem.
Having said that please follow these instructions and collect the required info so that our team can more effectively help you:
November 7, 2011 at 12:22 pm #38216wzpModeratorIn addition to the advice by petreski, please do not dido with the permissions; unless directed to. They are the way they should be. The 755 and 644 means that only you have the right to modify the files, and that everyone else can just look at them
November 7, 2011 at 3:18 pm #38217chrishudsonSpectatorHello,
Estore v6.1.1 Emember v7.3.1 WPv3.2.1
All the other information I can provide is behind the sceens and I am not sure I should post it here. It appears as though everything is correct as I can go all the way through the check out process and paypal is taking the money and completing the trans action.
Its when I look for the email nothing appears. I have tried both way worpress email and your php email but nothing.
In the general settings tab of emeber I have redirection after login checked, and enable custom fields checked
On my reregistration page this is all that is showing up:
Free membership is disabled on this site!
Please visit the Payment Page to pay for a membership.Click Here
When I click, the click here area it takes me to the join us page. At the join us page this is what I have:
Welcome to our Access Page. If you have not already paid, click the button below.
Full Swing Instructional Library
You get unlimited access to our Full Swing Instructional Library
Price: $149
You can register for Unlimited Access by clicking the button below, when I click the button I have on this page it takes me through the check out process and paypal completes the transaction.
And still no email. I have the [wp_eMember_registration]set on the registration page and even when I go there it just shows the info above instead of a form to be filled out.
After login the redirct page is set up correctly. with no expiry. Content protection is set up for all pages. Just not enabled yet on all individual pages.
Estore stuff:
Return to thank you page from paypal set up correctly. There is nothing on it yet but paypal is redirecting to this page. Canel redirct is working as well.
Email is correct in both areas eStore and Emember.
Any help would be great.
November 7, 2011 at 4:27 pm #38218wzpModeratorWhen you make the PayPal purchase, do you get the PayPal generated email?
If you enable the debug logs in eStore, you should be able to check the IPN processing status, and whether or not an eStore generated email was sent.
November 7, 2011 at 4:38 pm #38219chrishudsonSpectatorYes I am getting the information from paypal. I have done the debug several times and it is coming up blank. I have followed your information on all articles pertaining to this subject and i am still having issues.
November 7, 2011 at 5:31 pm #38220wzpModeratorBlank debug logs? Please check if this applies to your case, if you haven’t seen this already…

November 7, 2011 at 5:48 pm #38221chrishudsonSpectatorI have already tried all of these steps. Do you have any other ideas?
November 7, 2011 at 7:20 pm #38222wzpModerator@admin may have to log into your system for a look. He is in the GMT+10 timezone, so it will be about 6 hours.
November 7, 2011 at 9:34 pm #38223chrishudsonSpectatorThat would be great as I can not figure it out.
November 7, 2011 at 10:33 pm #38224adminKeymasterPlease post a link to your site (it is one of the points in this post)
From your explanation this doesn’t look like a direct PHP file permission issue as they are getting executed. I am pretty sure the PHP scripts on your server is not running as root so it can’t write to the debug file(s). This can happen when your hosting provider is using a PHP handler (DSO, CGI, suPHP, FastCGI) which runs PHP script as “nobody” user (this is bad for security).
Temporarily change the permission of the log files (the log files has a .log extension) to 777 (only the log files) and it should be able to write to the file. Go through this checklist again after you change the file permission of the log files:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/what-to-do-if-the-debug-file-is-empty
Once you are done troubleshooting issues you can change the file permissions of the log files back to 644
