Everything with eMember seems to work fine and then I came across an issue where a customer had unsubscribed from my site via Paypal unsubscribe, but my site still shows their subscription as active. I had to manually delete their account.

Is there a setting I missed?

    Thanks,

    Marcus

Hi Marcus, Few questions… Are you using a Plain PayPal button for your membership payments or are you using the WP eStore?

What version of WP eMember are you using?

What was the status of the member? Remember, when someone cancels the subscription it doesn’t immediately deactivate, it waits for the subscription time to expire before deactivating the account. For example if someone subscribed for a monthly membership and then unsubscribed in the middle of the month then the plugin will wait till the end of the month before deactivating the account as that member paid for the whole month so legally he/she should access to the content.

    Amin,

    I am using eMember v 5.0.5 and eStore v2.9.7.

I am using Buy buttons from eStore.

The customer subscribed on April 3 and cancelled on May 3 according to Paypal. He was showing active as of June 8. I did not delete his account until June 8. It is a monthly subscription.

    Thanks,

    Marcus

Hi, It sounds like you may be using “Buy Now” Buttons instead of “Subscription” Buttons. Remember PayPal handles subscriptions differently so “Buy Now” and “Add to Cart” buttons will not work for recurring payments. You can read more about subscriptions here: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/how-to-add-a-subscription-button-for-recurring-payment-400

also to get updates for the plugins please see the following post:
