Hi There,
I’m using OptimizePress 2.0 to setup a landing page with registration to an event that takes you to a sales page where you are offered the opportunity to pre-order the event recordings and transcriptions…
In OptimizePress 2.0 I have setup the paypal integration feature (using the Optimizepress-Member plugin). This allows me to generate a PayPal button within OptimizePress rather than via the Merchant area in PayPal.
Regarding WP – Affiliate, the plugin is installed and up and running and I’m able to track click-throughs to my test affiliates. The next step of course is to now integrate with PayPal so that I can track affiliate commissions.
My question then, relating to the PayPal PDT code – where should I configure the PDT code? Should this be configured in OptimizePress-Member plugin (there is an option to do this) or in the WP Affiliate plugin?
If the PDT code is configured in WP Affiliate I foresee a potential issue. The PayPal button generated by OptimizePress redirects (after payment) to the WP User Registration Page so that a paid up customer can register for the site, where they are assigned a membership level, that then allows access to the digital content download page. The registration page is a time limited page, so only available for a short period after purchase, as I understand it…
If I need to use the PayPal buttons generated in the Merchant area of PayPal I’m not sure how I’d replicate that behaviour.
Any advice and guidance and the best way to configure this would be much appreciated! It’s the final hurdle on my Telesummit Technology marathon
Many thanks,
Stuart

by using the PayPal button generator I can re-direct to the WP-Registration page and the user can register. However, Optimize-Member doesnt recognise that the customer is then entitled to the content, presumably because the purchase wasn’t made with an OptimizePress-Member paypal button. as such, membership levels aren’t associated with the new user’s account and they therefore cannot access the restricted content.
The URL redirect is [http://mydowain.com/wp-login.php?action=register]
So close…
February 27, 2014 at 11:11 pm #61168wpCommerceModeratorHi, please watch the videos on the following page which will explain the setup(Option 1):
February 28, 2014 at 12:10 am #61169adminKeymasterUse your PayPal button generated by optimizepress. You can enable PDT in your PayPal account (if you haven’t enabled it already) then specify those details in the affiliate plugin’s settings.
So ONLY do step 3 (the 1st 2 steps are already done by your optimizepress button)
Let me know if that make sense.

October 28, 2015 at 12:42 am #61171genevievelisemariMemberMy question is a follow up on gingerstu’s question. I’m selling a course and have the option of full payment, which utilizes a “buy now” type button configure within the OptimizeMember plugin (so that is sorted as per your answer to gingerstu)..but also utilize the “pro-form” option for those needing a payment plan. This generates a shortcode that gets pasted into the shortcode element. It is set as a subscrition type button but I use it as a workaround for a payment plan and simply tweak the code to limit the number of payments to the number of montly payments I require. From the information found on the page you suggested, it seems that for these types of buttons, I would need to follow the instructions for Option 2 – Integrating PayPal Button Using PayPal’s IPN Feature.
I’m not sure which I need to set up now – option 1 or 2? I don’t want to change my settings in paypal and all my customizations (and redirect) are set in the buttons generated from within the plugin itself.
October 28, 2015 at 11:58 pm #61172adminKeymasterIf you want to offer recurring commission on subscription payments then you need to use option 2. So do you want to offer recurring commission or just commission on the first payment of the subscription?
There is nothing much you need to change really. When you use option 2, it works for everything (buy now and subscription type buttons). All you need to do is add that ONE shortcode inside your button code. You don’t need to change your PayPal settings. It uses the IPN feature which is enabled by default on all PayPal accounts (You really have no reason to keep IPN disabled in your PayPal account).
October 29, 2015 at 4:04 am #61173genevievelisemariMemberRight so my IPN is always enabled…it’s obligatory for proper functioning with OP. And yes, I would like to offer recurring commission.
My concern is that the button I am using is not generated via paypal but via OptimizeMember. It is a subscription button which I tweaked to stop withdrawing payment after 3 withdrawals. However, the code generated through OptimizeMember is to be placed in OP’s “HTML/shortcode element”, not the WP text editor.
This is an example of the code;
[optimizeMember-Pro-PayPal-Form level=”1″ ccaps=”mentorship” desc=”$335 USD / OYC Mentorship Payment Plan” ps=”paypal” lc=”” cc=”USD” dg=”0″ ns=”1″ custom=”optimizeyourcourse.com” ta=”0″ tp=”0″ tt=”D” ra=”335″ rp=”1″ rt=”M” rr=”1″ rrt=”2″ rra=”2″ accept=”paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo” accept_via_paypal=”paypal” coupon=”” accept_coupons=”0″ default_country_code=”” captcha=”0″ success=”http://optimizeyourcourse.com/oyc-thank-you” /]
As you can see, this code would not function in a text editor, therefore, where would I add [wp_aff_paypal_fields], as you suggest in the https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/plain-paypal-button-and-affiliate-plugin-integration-168 documentation?
I do not want to have to go create my buttons in my paypal account as this would negate the automated registration process and assignment of proper membership for new buyers.
October 30, 2015 at 1:11 am #61174adminKeymasterIf you are using optimizemember then you should be using the following addon (we have an integration with optimizemember):
That integration takes care of everything. I have sent you that addon.
May 14, 2017 at 10:45 am #61175healerMemberHi,
I just bought WP affiliate platfrom and will use it along with OptimizeMember.
On the link provided by admin in this thread it says to ask for the plugin.
So, can you please send me that addon as soon as possible?
Thank you in advance,
Marko
