I have a service that is $399 first month and $199/mo thereafter. I need to be able to offer a discount on just the first payment only, but keep the remaining payments at $199.
Please tell me that you can accommodate this request for me, as this was the MAIN reason for purchasing your product. It would be a huge help to us if this is made possible.
Thank you kindly.

August 25, 2014 at 2:25 am #65123wpCommerceModeratorHi, you can create another eStore product and set up like the following:
1) Trial amount: discounted price
2) recurring amount: $199
Now replace the existing product ID with the discounted one in the subscription shortcode (as long as you are offering the discount).
Alternatively, we can customize our Subscription discount addon so it allows you to apply a discount on the trial amount (currently the coupon applies to recurring amount).

August 26, 2014 at 6:50 am #65124nashrykerMemberIt would be greatly appreciated if we had the option to just apply a coupon to the trial amount only. The reason is because we have about 6-8 price points we will be using, and I don’t want to have to create a separate checkout page, etc for each one. It would be much easier for our sales reps to be able to just offer prospects a coupon code to use on the one sales/checkout page we have for our product.
Thank you very much for this, and please let me know when we can use this feature.

August 27, 2014 at 7:16 am #65126adminKeymasterWe have tweaked the subscription discount addon to offer the discount on the trial/initial amount (rather than the recurring amount).
I have sent you the addon via email. Let me know how how you go.

July 4, 2018 at 5:44 pm #65132steadyradianceMemberHi! Would you be able to email me the tweaked addon so my subscription coupon only applies to the trial, no the recurring price? I didn’t see it in the addon download list…
Thank you in advance!
July 5, 2018 at 2:08 am #65133adminKeymasterDone.
July 5, 2018 at 8:48 pm #65134steadyradianceMemberThank you! It works great as far as the discount goes, but it looks a little different than the other addon. For the trial addon, the screen that asks for a coupon code is just a plain white page with the coupon code box. On the original (recurring price discount) addon, it shows the coupon code box within my site/theme (with the header, footer, styling, etc.)
Is it possible to get the trial addon to show the coupon code box within the other elements of my site instead of on a blank page?
Thanks!
December 1, 2019 at 1:02 pm #65135Is there a way to use coupons on subscription payments being made with Stripe? Or to use the subscription coupon add on if we’re using Stripe with WP eStore? We’re wanting to use the affiliate ID as the coupon (I saw your posts on that) but we’re finding that coupons don’t usually work on subscription payments? Thanks.
