Well, ideally every plugin and theme should work together as long as the developer of the theme or plugin followed WordPress’s coding guideline so everyone can live in harmony. There is no magic in this… all you need is some dedication from the developer to develop a product nicely keeping in mind that the product will need to share the space with other products. This is why we try to explain exactly what mistake the developer made in the plugin that is conflicting in hopes that he/she might fix it one day.
So, to answer your question… I cannot tell you if a particular theme or plugin will work or not from the top of my head (if it doesn’t work then I can analyze it and tell you why it won’t work).
July 28, 2011 at 8:15 pm #21382worldwebMemberThe plugin that comes with Easy video player 2 does not play nice at all, it puts the password reset form on the top of the site and you can’t get rid of it.
Just thought I would warn people:)

December 17, 2011 at 9:43 pm #21383bhadawayMemberThis was posted a year ago. Is Bad Behavior still an issue or has it since been updated to allow PayPal IPN?
For example, the following checkbox option has been added:
Allow form postings from other web sites (required for OpenID; increases spam received)
I imagine that might resolve the issue.
Thanks, Bryan
December 18, 2011 at 5:02 am #21384adminKeymasterYeah that option should fix the issue because it will allow PayPal to send the IPN. Once I get confirmation from a few users I will change the warning that eStore shows regarding Bad Behavior.
December 20, 2011 at 7:29 am #21385bhadawayMemberGreat, also heads up. There are no email notifications for this forum. It was just a fluke I manually checked back, otherwise I would have never known I received an answer.
Thanks, Bryan
December 20, 2011 at 9:07 am #21386adminKeymasterYes there is. Add a topic to your favorites and it will send you an email when there is a reply to that topic (this is how BBPress works).
March 8, 2013 at 4:58 am #21387majickSpectatorJust to report, WP Spam Free and WP SlimStat both seem to be causing issues with the Cart not updating/emptying on update. It breaks the PHP session on the site.
April 22, 2013 at 1:07 pm #21388wpsadminMemberAt the suggestion of my hosting provider (Digital Pacific) I recently installed the BulletProof Security plugin, to help guard against bruteforce attacks on my website. However, this plugin appears to be incompatible with WP eStore, and was causing the sort of error reported here: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/paypal-says-your-shopping-cart-is-empty
Fortunately this plugin can be run in a “default” mode for troubleshooting, which makes it behave as if it is not installed at all. Sure enough, once this plugin was running in this “default” mode, the empty shopping cart issue went away.
I will also report this incompatibility to the Bulletproof Security plugin developer, so that hopefully they can resolve the issue and make your plugin and theirs work together.
May 10, 2013 at 12:14 am #21389rvlawrenceMemberI got a warning about the Bad Behavior plugin incompatibility in my control panel when I updated my emember plugin. I was just wondering if the plugin conflict was resolved yet? I found this thread and wasn’t sure. Please confirm, many thanks!
May 10, 2013 at 5:09 am #21390adminKeymasterI am not sure if the bad behavior plugin developer updated his plugin to accept PayPal IPN. I haven’t heard any complaint recently so it is likely he did fix that PayPal IPN issue.
December 19, 2013 at 11:25 am #21391coenmMemberAny known conflicts with WpCopyright Pro? I think this is causing problems with pdf stamper @ my website… On the other hand, I’d really like to keep using WpCopyright Pro as well..
Any thought?
December 19, 2013 at 10:24 pm #21392wzpModeratorSo, deactivating WpCopyright Pro resolved your Error 500 problems? Googling “WpCopyright Pro conflicts” turns up all kinds of javascript interference issues. So it is highly likely that plugin has errors in it. Given that plugin is not updated for the current version of WordPress, I would recommend you to get a similar plugin that is upto date and maintained by the developer.
February 3, 2014 at 10:10 pm #21393emb123MemberWhat is the recommended substitute for Bad Behavior? I see that Akismet is referenced in an answer from about 2 years ago. Is that still the best solution?
February 3, 2014 at 10:26 pm #21394wzpModeratorAkismet comes with WordPress, so it is a good place to start.
February 3, 2014 at 11:17 pm #21395emb123MemberThanks wzp. I am not clear whether Akismet duplicates Bad Behavior functionality or not. Is this the solution you recommend? It is not clear from your answer.
It would be enormously helpful if y’all could add to the original post some suggested alternatives for each of the plugins that don’t play nice, instead of leaving us on our own to figure it all out. Alternatives may be immediately obvious to a developer, but I am not a developer. Shopping for alternatives takes many hours when you first need to spend a whole bunch of time learning about what you are even shopping for in the first place.
Thank you for any recommendations you can provide.
