I have been using the Download Manager plugin from [www.wpdownloadmanager.com] in conjunction with WP eStore from this site successfully without issue for the better part of this year.
All of a sudden yesterday my Add to Cart buttons in eStore stopped actually adding anything to the cart. Went through every article I could find on this, mostly dealing with a misconfiguration or PHP / webhost issue, before finally disabling Download Manager.
Can anyone please shed some light on this issue? As stated it had been working successfully for the better part of a year and never had issue until a few days ago. I’m positive I changed nothing in the configuration for either plugin, nor did I update either plugin.
Thanks in advance…
July 31, 2013 at 12:57 am #56875wpCommerceModeratorHi, can you please provide a link to the page where you have an Add to Cart button? Do you have this issue when the Download Manager plugin is deactivated?
This is a good post to go over when you have issues like this:

July 31, 2013 at 1:38 pm #56876FoolishTechMemberNo, the issue does NOT occur when the Download Manager plugin is deactivated.
[http://www.foolishit.com/buy-something-now/] is my cart page, however I cannot for a more than one minute leave the plugin activated for you to observe the behavior as I need that to function 24×7, obviously.
I know that I updated some plugins around the time the issue occurred, but I can’t remember what they were – though they were NOT either eStore nor Download Manager. Whatever happened though, if I now deactivate every plugin BUT dStore and DM, I still have the issue.
I really expect this to be a problem that the DM folks need to address but they do not seem as responsive as you to my requests for assistance.
Thanks in advance for any additional insight.
July 31, 2013 at 1:41 pm #56877FoolishTechMemberJust wanted to add that it would be a lot easier if you would develop a download manager with similar features, as the eStore functionality isn’t enough. I also have your Affiliate plugin and love it, and I would expect the same quality in any other plugin. Thanks,
August 1, 2013 at 12:49 am #56878adminKeymasterHi, I just checked your site and was able to successfully add items to the cart then checkout to PayPal. So it seems to be working fine.
What sort of download manager features are you after (the ones you really need)?
August 1, 2013 at 2:30 am #56879FoolishTechMemberYes, the add to cart works now but I have the other plugin deactivated.
Features I’m after in a d/l mgr, that I really need are simple (I think):
download count
add a download to the manager from an existing URL, I mean I don’t want to upload a file to the manager, I want to add a URL instead, and had have that source URL obscured to the downloader.
shortcode to add that download anywhere — and it should have an option to display as a graphical button instead of merely a link. bonus: button shows download count.
protection against ppl directly linking to the download would also be nice.
August 1, 2013 at 2:45 am #56880wzpModeratorAll of those features, except for the download counter, are already supported by eStore.
1. add a download to the manager from an existing URL — Create a new product in eStore, and specify the Product URL.
2. shortcode to add that download anywhere — Download button shortcodes are already supported, with the option of either a graphical button or text link.
3. protection against ppl directly linking to the download would also be nice. — Encrypted download links are the main feature of eStore. All download links served via eStore are encrypted, so as to obfuscate the download source.
