I am considering purchasing the Affiliate Platform, however, I’m not sure how much time I will have to invest in sending out payments to my affiliates each month.
Does the Affiliate Platform automatically send payments to my affiliates when they make a sale or will I have to pay them manually?
Thank you so much!
March 17, 2011 at 11:35 pm #30335wpCommerceModeratorAffiliate platform keeps track of the sales. It doesn’t automatically send payments to the affiliates. You will have to manually send the payments which is explained here:

1. I noticed that in the admin section, there is a “Create Mass Pay File” button. That link above explaining mass payment made it seem like I would have to make it manually in a txt file. But, it seems like you have created a button in the admin section that does it for me. Great!
One more question…
2. Let’s say that I owe someone $5.00. If I use the “Create Mass Pay File” button to create a file to upload in Paypal. Then, send the payment via Paypal MassPay, will that person get $5.00 or will they be deducted a Paypal fee and get like $4.95? If they will be deducted a Paypal fee, it seems that I will get a lot of angry affiliates saying they did not receive their full payment.
Thank you for your help with this!

PayPal will charge you additionally for the mass payment (this does not come out of the affiliate’s money). Mass payment is a really cheap way to make payments to multiple PayPal email addresses. November 14, 2011 at 6:29 pm #30339Roger MacRaeMemberIs there going to be an option to automatically pay affiliates. I only ask this because I recommend to my clients which products to use based on the features they need. Many of the affiliate programs out there have an option to make automatic payments to affiliates with options to hold the payment for a given amount of time. Not having this feature in your affiliate program is a serious drawback and makes me hesitant to use it (even though I have already purchased it) or recommend it to any of my clients.

June 5, 2012 at 7:35 am #30341AThomasMemberI would like to see this as well
June 16, 2012 at 7:36 pm #30342yositsitsuMember@Roger MacRae: the paypal mass payout being manual is paypal’s “drawback”, not Affiliate Platform’s. Several affiliate software I know do it manually as well (including DAP).
The automatic handling might be available though other services.
Anyway, I would be glad to hear how can the process of rewarding affiliates automated.
Anyone can give more specific information on what software and gateways support that?
June 16, 2012 at 8:13 pm #30343AThomasMemberit is definitely not a limitation of paypal. They even have sample code on their site for how to do it.
