Hi how do I add more affilaite tools to WP Affiliate Platform? At the moment, WPAP only allows merchants to provide banner and tetx links to their affiliates. I wnat to add articles, PPC ads, email etc with the affiliate link automatically encoded inside those tools so that the affilaites can use those to promote my products (arther than just banner and link text)
I agree that this is something that’s needed. The affiliate tools area by default is not enough tools for the affiliates to do a good job. If you’d like an example of a well-built affiliate tools section please see http://www.maxblogpress.com/affiliate-signup/ (section once logged in, and inside the “promotional materials” per product).
Hi Kim, I believe you just need an update as we have added these options to the Affiliate Platform. You can read more about updates here:
The option is called “Creative Copy” You can use this to pretty much make whatever media you want your affiliates to have as you can use HTML in this section. You can give your affiliate pre-written articles, video embed code etc.
Thank you Ivy, reqest sent. It really hasnt been that long since I purchased these so I am a little surprised to have missed an update already! LOL Request sent! Thanks!
Ivy can you please point me to a page/document/guide on the site about adding this other creative copy? I still (post-update) only see settings for banners/links. I tried digging up affiliate plugin screenshots http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/wordpress-affiliate-platform-admin-screens-17 and do not see things beyond banners and text links here either. Color me confused!
Kimberly
Go to “Manage Ads” under WP Affiliate. Now click on the “Creatives” tab. Now you can add any creative as you like.
Thank you wpCommerce. Apparently when I did an upgrade I didnt actually overwrite the old files and was still apparently looking at the old version which lacked “Manage Ads”. Once I realized I was likely still seeing an old version I made sure to delete the old copy of the files before uploading new ones. Problem solved. Thanks!
