For example, how can I say “Welcome to Course A” for membership level A and “Welcome to Course B” for membership level B. I don’t seem to be able to find an answer to my question.

Hi, The way to do that is to use email tags in the email that gets sent out to your members when they signup. The following post will explain what email tags you can use:

We have just added a new email tag there to show the membership level name.
We are using the send email xx days before account expires. One member sent us the email saying she had renewed already. We noticed that the first and last names were not in the email. This is what she received (and what we are using). The variables appeared in her email:
Dear {first_name} {last_name},
Your membership account will expire in 6 weeks.
