Tagged: customer input, required
Hi- we have a small online shop and many of our items require customer input to designate who the funds are meant for (school site and parents are paying for kids lunches, fees, etc). I have the customer input field added to the items as needed, but we are getting many purchases without the field filled in. We need to make the field mandatory if possible.
I found the topic for how to make the customer input field mandatory by adding some coding, but how do we go about that if we are using wordpress.com and can’t access the coding? Appreciate the help!
Just to confirm, are you using the following addon of WP eStore which has an option to configure customer input fields and make fields require?
I’m not- I was just on the forums again searching for an answer and saw the e-store version of that (we’re using E-store, not Simple Cart). Is that the best option? I was hoping to enable the option for individual items, rather than the whole purchase. Thank you for your response! Pretty new at this and floundering a bit.
You could do the following to still make code modification (if you want to go down that path).
You should be able to update the code in your computer then make a new zip file of the plugin with the updated code.
Then delete the estore plugin from your site and then upload the newly created zip (that has the updated code). You won’t lose any data in the process so it is okay to delete and re-upload a new copy of the plugin.
I’ll take a look, thank you for the suggestion!
Re: “You could do the following to still make code modification”
Please, where are the notes for such code modification?
Thank you!
