Hi, Still getting Comments not allowed error. WP eMember upgraded WP eMember Version v8.0.7 but still same result Please help.
I have sent you and email to so I can get access and check the settings of the plugin.
Please let me know if you do not receive this email.
Turns out that you have the following option checked in eMember which is telling eMember to only allow logged in members to comment:
Members Must be Logged in to Comment
So you are telling eMember not to allow anonymous users to comment. If you want anyone to be able to comment simply uncheck that option in eMember settings.
Hi… this doesn’t make sense. I am having the same issue and was not able to comment EVEN WHEN LOGGED IN. I am using the latest version, just installed. And it was working fine yesterday, there are comments to prove it. Nothing changed since then. All plugins and themes were updated before the site went live yesterday. Yesterday comments worked. Today they don’t.
I did uncheck “members must be logged in to comment”, but that reveals the comment form even when members are NOT logged in. I don’t want the form visible unless they are logged in.
Thanks for the help!
If you only want your logged in members to be able to comment, you do want to have the “Members Must be Logged in to Comment” option enabled in the eMember settings. We just have to find out what other settings is affecting the way it normally works.
You did check the “Members Must be Logged in to Comment” option in eMember settings and not the standard WordPress discussion settings correct?
Edit the post or page in question and scroll down to the “Discussion” section. Then check the value of the “Allow comments” field. Is it checked? This is a standard WordPress feature but worth checking.
