Great software! I’ve got a physical product that i would like to offer a $1.00 two-week trial. I would like to charge $15 Shipping & Handling up front (paypal) and after two weeks if they don’t return the product, I want to automatically charge them $69 purchase price for that product. (It would be nice to have them click on a Terms box that they understand they will be charged $69 unless they return the product, etc.)
What’s the most correct way to set this up? Also, how do I get that “terms” button and link to appear?
Thanks!
T&C is a shopping cart feature so the subscription button do not have this option as it uses a different PayPal API(maybe i should add this option in). For now, The easiest way to do this is to put a sentence just above or below the subscription button that is similar to something like the following.
By making this purchase you agree to the terms and conditions (you can then link your terms and conditions page here also).
As for the trial period there is a feature for this in the “add/edit” products menu under the subscription section.
Any way to turn off the “cancel” option on the email that is immediately sent to the customer through PayPal? Looks like I would have almost everyone “cancel” immediately after I sent the trial product!
You will need to ask PayPal for this one as the content of the receipt email from PayPal is controlled by PayPal.
It’s none of my business but for physical subscription products it’s better to charge upfront otherwise many people can pull this “get the first installment free and then cancel” trick.
The reason I say this is because a user always has the right to cancel a subscription payment unless it has been agreed otherwise.
