Free download then add into autoresponder

Hi,

I would like to offer some eBooks for free then add them into my autoresponder list automatically for follow ups, is there anyway to do that?

I did following:

1) Use buy now button and the buyer can be added into my list successfully after place the order and pay through PayPal.

2) Use Free download button with Name/Email, the user can download the file but they will not be added into the autoresponder list.

BTW, I uses GetResponse as autoresponder.

Yeah you simply use this squeeze page form to give out the free eBook and it will add them to the list you specified for this product:

Thank you for the information, however this was exactly I did, but as I mentioned in item 2) in my first post, the Name and Email can’t be added into GetResponse contact list.

Do I miss anything?

Okay I must have misunderstood. So you don’t want to sign the customer to the autresponder for the free download? You just have to leave the autoresponder list name field for that individual product empty and it won’t sign the customer up. Remember to not use the “Global Autoresponder” signup.

Sorry, but I think you totally misunderstood my point…

I want to add users into GetResponse mail list when they click the free download button.

However the result was not what I expected.

How can I accomplish this?

LOL… okay can you do a small test for me?

You have a buy now button for a product right? When someone purchases this product the autoresponder signup works fine. Can you use this product’s ID and place a squeeze page form on a test post and let me know if the email gets added to the list?

Remember, if the list already contains the email address that you are trying to add it will not add it again (it will silently ignore it).

Tested again, and the new email will not be added into the list when using free download button, however buy now button was ok, this is what my original question was.

Any idea?

@jphogbin, It seems like your MailChimp autoresponder signup is not working. Please do the test mentioned here and then share the debug file content (it will tell us what step is missing for the integration to not work):
