Hello, I have previously used WP Affiliate on my site using gravity form, everything worked great. We are upgrading our system and now using Paypal to process payments. I followed the directions found here (option 1):
Direct/Plain/Hosted PayPal Button and Affiliate Plugin Integration
It seems that only clicks are getting recorded, not payments.
Other information: I tried to enable de-bugging mode and placing an order, but the log shows up blank. Yes, I created a thank you page. Yes, Paypal is automatically returning customers to my site. Yes, I checked the right box and and entered the token correctly.
What else do I need to enable/disable/do? (I searched the forum for a similar answer, but all seem to say that I might have missed a step above, I didn’t.)
March 16, 2013 at 10:15 pm #54478adminKeymasterJust to make sure… you are not using Gravity Form’s PayPal addon. You are directly integrating it with a PayPal button correct?
Please answer the following questions:
1) What version of the affiliate plugin are you using?
2) Post a link to the page where you have your PayPal button
3) Post a link to your “Thank You” page

We aren’t using a Paypal button, just a shopping cart (the embedded one related to Checkfront if it makes a difference), then Paypal for payments. I assumed this would work fine based on the response to another’s question comment on this page (Pam’s question):
Other info:
1) version 5.3.3
2) See above, no specific button
3) thank you page: [http://simplestrollerrental.com/reservation-confirmation-2/]
Will look through other topic now. Thanks!
March 16, 2013 at 11:11 pm #54480adminKeymasterOkay point number 2 would be the issue. It specifically integrates a PayPal button only There are specific verification checks in place to make sure people can’t scam you. Those checks will fail if you are not using a proper PayPal button.
Giving commission is one thing but giving commission to a valid transaction is another thing. All of our specific integration options are done keeping the 2nd point in mind.
For you to be able to use that PayPal integration, the customer must be directed back to the “Thank You” page with PayPal PDT data present (so that the plugin can verify the authenticity of the transaction). This thank you page URL will look something like the following when a customer gets redirected to that page after a PayPal transaction:
Are you seeing that happening?
